I can fly! (Vince)

The next afternoon, I was out jogging alone. I wanted to keep up my speed so I could maintain my position as a linebacker on the school football team.

As I veered around the right corner, I bumped into someone.  As I stumbled a little to keep my balance, the person that I ran into was a girl who was wearing pink sweatpants.

Without a doubt, the girl was Vicky because she always wears those pants whenever she's working out or doing any type of exercise.

She was jogging too. "Sorry, Vicky. You okay?" I asked as I helped her up. She rubbed her head and answered "Sure, I'm okay."

"Are you jogging just for fun, exercise, or both?" I asked thoughtfully. Vicky smiled and said "I was about to ask you the same thing. Yeah, I'm jogging so I can run faster when I join the track team."

"That's cool. I'm sure you'll make the team. I'm jogging so I can increase my speed. As well as keep my spot on the football team."

Vicky nodded and said that I can already run faster than anyone she's ever seen in her life. I chuckled and kept jogging.

The guys and I would probably tell Vicky. Besides being a nice girl, she's trustworthy. So I think that she can keep a secret.

A few hours after I got home and had dinner with my family, I was in my bed playing Madden NFL 24 on my phone.

Saving where I left off, I decided to go to hit the hay. But then I opened my eyes as I lay there in bed, and a thought crossed my mind.

Vance and our friends all have the power of superflight except me.

So that gave me an idea. I opened my bedroom window and carefully climbed through it as I sat on the roof.

Our two story house is orange and white, which look really cool. Anyway, skipping the paint features of my house, I stepped through the space of my window and sat on the roof.

Then thinking about how Vance and my friends jump and fly, or how they just fly without jumping, I though of what would happen if I jumped off the roof and fell on the ground.

Not that I was worried because my fast regenerative healing would kick in and I could just flame my way back up to my room.

I went over to my nightstand and picked up my phone. I went back to Madden NFL 24 for a few minutes and went to the home page.

I had received a message. So after I opened it up, it was from Vicky.

Do your best on your jogging, Vince. I hope you and the others do well on the football team.

Your friend, Vicky

I smiled and responded with a thanks before I pocketed my phone. I sat on the edge of my bed with my cat Uri.

After putting Uri down on his cat bed, I made up my mind.

I decided that I wasn't just gonna sit there, contemplating as to whether or not I could fly. I was gonna test my theory, and try my best.

I decided that jumping off the roof would be stupid. Besides, even though it was in the middle of the night, someone might see me.

So after heading downstairs to my backyard,  I stood there for a few minutes. What if I couldn't do it? That question ran through my mind.

But then again, if i didn't try, I would never know if I could fly or not. So without looking at the ground, I jumped into the air.

I didn't feel myself land on the ground because I immediately soared up in the air. As I looked down, my house was quickly becoming smaller and smaller the higher I soared.

I moved my hands to the left, which maneuvered me over to the right towards a house. I knew that if I crashed into it, I could get in trouble for smashing someone's home.

So reacting within a matter of seconds, I moved my hands down, which sent me zooming straight up towards the night sky.

The view itself was breathtaking.

The empty navy blue sky with a solid white full moon was amazing. I took out my phone and snapped a photo.

I decided to fly to the city, so making sure I was facing the highway, I flew towards it. Soon, I was flying over cars, busses, and other vehicles.

I did a few backflips over some small buildings as I quickly flew again. Then I found myself flying in the tunnel of the subway.

I was behind the train, so I grabbed onto an emergency door that was in the back of the last train car and opened it up as I walked in.

I felt like one if those guys in the park our movies. Good thing Vance, Jeremy, and I practice parlor every afternoon at the gym.

The rest of the guys also joined the parkour course to get fit and have fun at the same time. Plus, rock music was at the gum, mainly in the boxing and parkour stations at the local gum

Anyway, enough about the gym. It was time to back my flying practice. I decided to take some photos of me up in the sky with the night time city beneath me.

People were staring at me, wondering why and most importantly how I got into the back of the train.

Some of the people were carrying suitcases and laptop bags. I ran through the train, opening up the doors and and running up to the first train car.

When the train stopped to pick up some more people, many of the passengers got off the train just as more people entered.

As I got off the train, I ran up the escalator, sprinted my way out of the train station, and went back to flying.

I flew up to a midsized building and sat on the roof. Looking around at the city during its time of night life, it fascinated me as to how much people are always moving.

Always moving to get to work, or school, or whatever. Whether it was during the day or whether it was at night, the city was always busy.

I sat there and watched the video I made from the time that I flew in the sky until I was near the train.

I checked out my other video of me doing a back-lit and of me running through the train station. After flying back home, I climbed through my bedroom window and plugged in my phone.

I lay there in bed and thought about what just happened. I can fly!
