A/N: First of all, I'd like to thank you all for more than 300Tsd reads on this book and especially for all the comments. I don't even know what to say anymore cause it's so much more than I expected when I first started. Love y'all fr🤍
Secondly, I need your help. I've been working on a new Rafe Cameron book for the last few days. What I would like to know now is whether you would like a new book from me and what you would like. Which trope, specific plot requests, and so on. You'd help me a lot with your answers but now here is a new chapter...

Rafe was already in his bed, leaning against the propped up pillow behind his back.
After their shower, all tiredness was gone and all that was left in his head were the images of the girl he was strangely allowed to call his own.
Alice was still in his bathroom, still not finished with her whole after shower routine, which was longer than the shower itself.
All he did after the shower was dry himself, rub his hair halfway dry with a towel and get dressed.
Although just putting on a pair of boxers and his grey sweatpants hadn't been much of a process.
However, he took advantage of the time he was given and tidied up his room. He changed the sheets after they...ruined the previous ones, opened the windows and let the cool night air in and the smell of sex out, and picked up all the clothes from the floor around the bed.
And he was damn glad of the silence in Tannyhill.
As shitty as it sounded, Rafe didn't normally feel comfortable in this place he called home.
It was as if something was haunting him between the four walls of Tannyhill. The deep feeling of not being wanted where he was.
Rafe knew that his father didn't love him like he loved his sisters. That was okay. He had come to terms with it, accepted it. But for the little boy in him, who back then had wanted nothing other than his father's pride and love, it hurt even more to live in the same house with him and feel like he was a stranger.
But as soon as Alice was there with him, it felt more like home. With or without the love of a parent.
As if she was his home among all the people who had never offered him one.
Rafe's stream of thoughts was interrupted by the loud ringing of his phone.
A FaceTime call from Kelce.
„What?" Rafe answered after briefly considering ignoring it.
„I'm happy to see you too" Kelce shot back in a bitchy tone.
Rolling his eyes, he shook his head and sat up slightly. „it's the middle of the night, the fuck do you want?"
„Why are you ignoring me?"
„What?" Rafe furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. „I'm not."
„Uh-huh, but I texted you" Kelce argued, pointing his finger at him...or the camera. „ten times, all delivered but not read"
