Imperial Inquisitor Haydrax Ishamael Ignatio Jacobeam the Fourth watched from the bridge of his ship, Emperor's Glory, as it drifted slower and closer to the planet known as Tarsis Ultra, a world under the protection of the Ultramarines. Ever since it had been destroyed by the Iron Warriors of the Ruinous Powers, it had become the a desolate planet but a thriving station orbited it instead. The Emperor's Glory was an Imperial Frigate with decent firepower and speed for a ship of its size. It had full capability to travel through the Warp, thanks to the Psychic Navigator that allowed it to plow through the perilous space known as the Warp, a foul dimension where the Daemons and Chaos lived.
Haydrax watched the crew around him scurry around as they prepared to orbit them above as he looked to its captain as he said, "Prepare me a transport to the station."
"Yes, my lord." said Krono Capster as he nodded to his officers around him.
Haydrax walked off the as he stepped towards the ascender as he patiently waited for it to arrive. When it did, he stepped in it and thumbed the button as it slowly made its way down towards the level he wanted. He then got out his communication bead as he said into it, "Enforcer Jaxx? I need you to gather the others for an assignment that I will be entrusting you with."
"Yes, Inquisitor Haydrax Ishmael Ignatio Jacobeam the Fourth." came the reply as the comm bead turned off.
Haydrax smiled as he waited to come the level he would get off at. It was going to get really busy on this ship soon.
Jaxx Rommulous checked the ammo in the container as he made sure his Arbites Enforcer armor was all squared away before he walked over to the bench near his bed as he picked up his trusty shotgun. It was a standard-issue Imperial shotgun that was given to all enforcers like himself and as he put it in its sheathe on his back, he walked over to his quarters doors as he opened them up and looked into the hallway.
He walked to the door across from his as he knocked on it and when it opened, he was looking at one of his friends and members of his group, Phrix Pilgrim. She was the groups only Warp-user, being a sanctified Pysker of the Imperium of Man. She wore simple robes as her clothing and though she did have a Lascarbine on her back, she used mainly her mind to channel the Warp into powerful spells.
"Is it time to go?" she asked Jaxx. Her eyes shone with the power of the Warp.
"Yes. We are to prepare for the trip to Tarsis Ultra station." Jaxx said curtly.
"Then let us go and fetch Eli from his range and Engelbart from his workshop... and make sure we bring Comm beads for our use this time." Phrix said as she remembered the last time they were on a planet and had forgotten their communication devices.
"Agreed." Jaxx said as the two walked side-by-side down the corridor to the gun range.
Eli fired another round from his Hunting rifle as the shot only hit a few centimeters from where he was aiming and he sighed as he went to the nearby tool bench and began to fine-tune the scope on his hunting rifle. He also had on his body a Laspistol and his sword that he carried with him, his only means of being identified as a noble from another world. He wore only a simple, black bodysuit
But just as he was finishing up his tuning, Jaxx and Phrix entered the range and Jaxx said in his Texas-style accented voice, "We need to get moving. We are to board a transport to the station of Tarsis Ultra."
"Tarsis Ultra? An Ultramarine world? This should be an interesting sight." Eli said as he slung his rifle over his shoulder and walked over to his friends.
As they began to walk out, Eli asked them, "Are we going to bring Comm beads this time?"
Engelbart Kappa was the groups Tech priest and as he bent over his current project, a tech priest axe with a cog-tooth blade and a disruptor field within the handle, he was consumed with making the weapon to perfection. Then. the door to his small forge opened up and he looked up as he watched his friends and partners enter the room as Eli said, "Come, bring the comm beads. We are going to the surface of Tarsis Ultra to recruit some new followers for our Inquisitor."
"Well, I guess I can see wether or not we will have anything good, tech wise, on the planet." Engelbart said as he put down the axe he was making as he grabbed his Lasrifle and the comm beads before walked over to his friends.
"This is an Ultramarine world. There will probably be very good tech down on the planetary station." Eli said.
"An Ultramarine world? Well, let us hope that there will be plenty of good then." Engelbart said happily as they began to leave the place and head straight for the hangar bay.
The hangar was filled with people as the group of four slowly walked towards their transport and that's when they met up with Inquisitor Haydrax as the man watched the preparation of the transport before he noticed the group walking towards him and he said to them, "I see you all are here now so I shall tell you your mission.
"You will go to the planetary station and begin recruiting anyone willing to join as long as you all believe that they are ready for what will be asked of them." Haydrax told them.
"Alright, Inquisitor Haydrax Ishmael Ignatio Jacobeam the Furth. We will do as we are tasked." Jaxx said and the group quickly entered the transport as they prepared to go to the planetary station that currently could be seen from the hangar bay.
As the team strapped in, they made sure they all had comm beads on themselves and all of their weapons on them before they nodded to the pilot as the pilot nodded and closed the hatch before the Inquisitor and all of the other personnel quickly scampered away as the engines began and in a wash of fire, the transport slowly lifted up and as it left the hangar bay, Haydrax looked down at his list of things to begin and he sighed as he left the hangar bay as he began to get them done.
The ride to the station, which was gargantuan in size and almost as big as a star fort, was smooth and uneventful for the small part as the four were quiet within. But they all had their hopes in what they would find.
Jaxx hoped to find several willing Arbite Enforcers to follow him into combat.
Phrix hoped to find some more pyskers to help tutor them in the ways of her and help them use their gift to glorify the Emperor.
Eli hoped to find some willing Assasins and Death Cultist to join him.
And Engelbart was hoping to find many Tech-priest acolytes to help him in his workshop.
But they all knew that anything could happen on the surface of the station.
The transport came in on a wave of fire as it soon touched the ground gently and as ground crews rushed to make sure everything was as right as rain, and as the back hatch hit the ground, the group quickly left the transport as they quickly trotted from the hangar bay as they were ushered into what could be only described as the best reception they had ever seen.
Troopers in blue armor, PDF troopers to be more exact, were lined up to either side, the white U pressed down on their flak vests as they looked impassively at one another with Lasrifle's at the ready and as the four slowly walked in between the reception, a single noble waited for them at the end. He wore elegant clothes of blue and had upon his shoulders a cloak of blue and white with fur trim. But Eli could see underneath he cloak that was draped over the nobles body a plasma pistol and a power sword in its sheathe and as the four stopped before the noble, the noble gave a slight bow as he said tot hem, "I am Scipio Centuro, the Imperial Commander of this station. You must be Inquisitor Haydrax's acolytes, I presume?"
"Your are darn right, sir. Didn't expect this sort of reception from anyone." Jaxx said as he looked around.
"Yes but this is but a true fraction of those here at Tarsis Ultra. There are some below, in the remains of the planet surface, trying to rebuild what they can." Scipio said as he motioned them to follow him.
"I assume that our best places to look for recruits will be down upon that surface?" asked Phrix.
"Yes, I am terribly sorry for the inconvenience. However, I pray to the Primarch that you all are armed... besides the Arbites and PDF troopers, along with a few Guardsmen, the Hive below is full of the lowest of the low., scum gangs who constantly fight one another for everything..." Scipio told them as the transport, a monorail, began to move away.
"Sir, with all due respect, we have face a great many things before this mission... Scum gangs and outcasts will be quite easy to deal with compared to what we have faced before." Jaxx said.
"I hope so... many have raided the remains of the ruins for all sorts of weapons, from pistols to autoguns and even one gang had found an autocannon... but if you say you can take them, then may the Primarch be with you."
