Simon's Point of View:

The time finally came where it was time to leave, and I was beyond ready to get back home to Kiera and the kids. I remembered Finley telling me that Deputy Dixon was to pick me up and take me back to the station, and to be honest, I was dreading it, mainly because this woman had an intention on getting me in her bed, and it wasn't going to work no matter how hard she tried.

"My wife should be here soon to pick us up..." Hockley sighed once we got out of the gate.

"I don't give a shit."

I saw my ride out of here, and I was going to take it, even though I'd rather walk back to the station. She held the bag of my belongings in her hand, and I was reaching for it with haste. "She called not too long ago, but I assured her that you were fine." She smiled at me.

Oh no, you don't want to do that...

"What did she say?"

"Well, she told me to fuck off," She scoffed. "You might have some problems when you get home. If you do, my door is always open."

"I don't blame her. I was going to tell you the same thing when we got back to the station."

"Get in the car." She huffed, and I smirked at the thought of my wife telling another woman to fuck off.

I immediately checked my phone, seeing Kiera's text messages to let me know how she was doing every few hours, except this time, I was able to text her back. I knew I should've called, but I knew that Dixon had already started her shit with her, and I wasn't about to tell her that Dixon was driving me back to the station, even if nothing was going to happen, Kiera was going to assume the worst.

"Did you catch you a squeeze in jail?"

"Had to release my anger somehow."

"I have another way you can release some of that tension-"

"Stop. I'm not here to listen to your intentions, nor am I interested. I have a job to do, and so do you. Keep it professional."

"Can't blame a girl for tryin'."

"You're "trying" when you know I'm married. Find something better to do instead of trying to ruin someone's marriage."

"So, what you're saying is that you would if you weren't married?"

"No. I married my wife for a reason."

"Probably because she has your kids."

"More than that, but nice try. Won't you go to the bar later tonight and find a man who's willing to cheat on his wife or someone that's, you know, single," I scoffed. "For the time being, I'd prefer to sit in silence on the short ride back instead of talking to you."
