Safety Net
The lodging repelled, restless, exerting its resources trying to keep this place standing. It trickled in streams, giving them every reason to stay.Then she uttered those three little words. Maybe a little too soon. But it felt right to her. It clawed out of her, twisting knots in her chest and stitching her gut. She took it for a ride, testing it out on her tongue wondering how it would make him feel.
It's a sudden rupture that tears the barricades.
The floorboard shifted and the net was ripping. A dazed arc flashing over her gaze. The net can't catch her anymore yet she stays
because it's so comfortable.
So easy.
