His truth cuts her as its slips through his lips.
Slicing her up and scratching up her throat.
It was a mind game, a mind meld that had her
melting into him. A part of her knew because
she could see it in his eyes. They didn't glint
when the words bounced on his tongue.
Reality was sharp, unforgiving, and had her slacked jaw.
When he said I love you it was just a tease
and her heart was impaled on this lie, a stab to the chest,
right through her for everyone to see.
When she said I love you, she meant it.
