One thing about Ainsley's life is that when something happy happens, there has to be a follow up event that would cause her smile to turn upside down.
Ainsley and her parents' relationship aren't the best.
They had a child not because they wanted to experience parenthood, but to fix their marriage. That's the problem with most people. Bringing a child into an already fucked up household and expect that innocent soul to put the pieces back together.
Her parents' relationship did not get any better after Ainsley's birth because her parents weren't aware that having a kid means that they have to take care of them.
That was the main topic that day.
Ainsley got a call from her mother. Her mother vented to her about how she has to help Ainsley financially and she said and I quote, "Can't you just take care of yourself?"
Ainsley was a bit taken aback. She no longer lived with her parents anymore, which meant that she does everything on her own. The only thing her parents helped her with was money, and they weren't willing to do that much for her.
When Ainsley told her mother, in a pretty straightforward way, that it was her responsibility, her mother was furious.
She got Ainsley's dad on the phone and both Ainsley's parents started scolding her for simply stating that a child's welfare is her guardian's responsibility.
The call lasted almost 40 minutes, before Ainsley was finally fed up and hung up.
This has always been the sole reason for the dents in Ainsley and her mother's relationship. Ainsley was forced to grow up at an early age. She did not remember a moment when she was carefree and just could actually like a child that she was.
Her parents, especially her father, never showed her anything that suggested that they adored her. It was always 'why can't you do this? ' or 'why do you do this? '
Things that she thought were normal, ended up being the opposite.
One of those things might as well be the reason why Ainsley wasn't capable of expressing her feelings.

"You look down, is everything alright?" Cyno approached Ainsley, who sat with Nora, Iris and Carla. Nora was trying to get Ainsley to talk to Draco since he wanted to 'apologise' but it wasn't a great time for that. Nora, ofc, was oblivious to that.
Not that she didn't care about Ainsley's well-being, she probably cared more than Ainsley herself.
It's just that Ainsley kept a lot of things to herself. The girls weren't aware of that and they were confident that Ainsley would tell them if anything was bothering her.
Ainsley used to be that way before Hogwarts but people change man. Ainsley wanted to take care of her own shit, despite however of a child she may be at heart she felt the need to put up a brave front.
Which is also because of her parents (childhood trauma does be wildin').
"Hey." She stood up straight and smiled at the male.
