"Girl, you free?" Ainsley heard Serene's voice out of her headphones.
"Not really." Ainsley answered. She heard a familiar voice groan. "Avery's here?"
"Yeah, conference." Serene replied.
"You're always busy, what even are you doing? " Avery complained.
" I've got loads and loads of stuff to do, sorry guys!" Ainsley explained before hanging up.
She had been spending her days in the library, simply reading random science and history books just to keep herself busy.
She did start by trying to prepare for her upcoming exams but when she found a book on The Big Bang Theory, she got distracted. Which explained why she was sat with a bunch of books on the universe. All while a true crime podcast played through her earbuds.
She was quite the multi-tasker.
She made sure to spend her day at the library until she got tired so that she could go to sleep without any help from the pills. That was only how she could manage these days.
Her head was a mess. She had no time for anyone or anything, but wasn't sure what she did with the 24 hours she had. She had a lot on her mind but just wasn't able to spill it. She didn't even know if she wanted to spill it. She didn't know if she was even stressed in the first place.
It was blurry, all of it.
Usually, the only one who pulled her out of this hole that she often jumped into was Cyno. But he had been busy all month. He was quite the nerd, to be honest. He had been studying for the exams all month, so that he could relax during the Triwizard Tournament.
She didn't get it. She would always study 3 hours before the exam but had always done well.
But even then, Cyno always made sure to spare some time for Ainsley. Why wouldn't he now? They hadn't had a normal conversation in weeks.
Now that she thought about it, he still hasn't asked her for the ball. Was he unsure about it? Was he having second thoughts about her? Was he finally tired of her? Was he going to break up with her? Was he-
All her thoughts died down when she sensed a new presence beside her.
"I never thought that I would see you in the library, actually doing something."
It was Tighnari.
" Hey. " Ainsley managed to breathe out.
" Hey. What are you doing here still? " He questioned, as Ainsley paused her podcast.
"Reading." Ainsley gestured to the pile of books on the table.
"Well I can see that but, I mean- it's time for dinner. Why are you still here?" He said, causing Ainsley to check her phone for the time.
He was right. It was time for dinner. Already, she wondered. She had been in the library for almost 7 hours now, she never noticed the time fly.
