Chapter 18 - Clever

The next day. I did what Risha asked me to do for her which is to support her for her observation. I didn't quite get why she still wanted support from us when her powers are exceptional and useful. She'd proceed to the next level immediately.

But well, friends are friends. Even though I still want to sulk under my sheets and rest for the whole day, I made a promise to her. I decided to go with Lyko since he'll be observing again. 

"We'll be home early again today for we have to decide for the flowers and who among the gods will license our marriage." He said while looking at me looking at the green fields.

"A god?" I asked, slightly amused. Would you think of that? Hindi pari ang kakasal sa amin kundi isang Diyos! I can't believe the surrealness of this place. 

"Yep. You choose. Hades, Artemis, Aphrodite, Hera..."

And he went on about the list of gods we can ask to be our "priest". 

"But I suggest we go for Hades since he's the closest to us. My father wanted the wedding to be as soon as possible."

"Why? What's the rush?" 

He shrugged, "I don't know. Sumunod nalang tayo." 

I nodded.

When we got off the carriage, a familiar scream called Lyko. Kahit na di naman ako ang tinawag ay lumingon parin ako at nakita ang pamilyar na mukha ng isang prinsesa. None other the Cerina Hestins in her white and green gown. Very opposite from our outfit of black - training suits. 

She ran towards our direction, not minding the stares she got from my fellow trainees. The looks on their faces tell me that they recognize this woman. Not just as a princess. Maybe she visits the academy too.

Like her last visit, biglaan rin ito. We were not at all informed that she will be barging in our territory, again. 

"How'd you come inside?" Pambungad ni Lyko sa kaniya. 

"Oh." She waved a hand and laughed, "I persuaded your guards."

Kumunot lalo ang noo ni Lyko, "But they can't be persuaded, even I can't persuade them to let me out alone."

And then her expression changed from coy to being like someone got caught stealing. She fidgeted with her fingers, "I threatened them..." Mababa ang boses na sabi nito.

Nanlaki pareho ang mga mata namin ni Lyko, "What?!" He exclaimed, "By telling them what?"

Napakamot ito ng ulo but her hair remained untangled, "S-sorry... I just wanted to surprise you!"

"Does the Queen Alessandra knows about this?" He asked suspiciously.

The girl just shrunk more and looked more caught. She didn't need to answer while Lyko drew in an exasperated gasp. Napailing na lamang ito.

"Just know that we will not be held responsible if anything happens to you here. You went without an authorization from the King." He said in a serious tone, looking down at her puppy sad face, "This is the last time you'll do it. Okay? And the threatening you did to our guards? It's an abuse of power."

At nilampasan niya ito. Napabuntong hininga ako at agad na naawa kay Cerina. She meant good but did it in a wrong way. Instead of walking past her, I walked towards her. She looked up to me since I'm basically a few inches taller than her and had her head down. 

"You want to come with us? There's an observation going on and you'll be delighted to see our trainees." I smiled. 

Her face slightly lit up and nodded. Walang pasubaling inangkla niya ang braso sa akin at ngumiti ng malapad.
