The very first thing that came into my mind was to run. Run away and never show up to anyone. I don't care what happens, I just wanna hide and save my dear life.
I know it's selfish, but isn't that what everyone wanted? Because I'm the yinyang, I'm supposed to be taken care of and be safe all the freaking time. I am special, I am the hope of the future. But even though I wanted so bad to run for my life, I didn't.
I froze right on the spot.
"You might as well continue dancing or your precious husband might notice us and spoil our night." Bulong niya. It didn't sound like he's angry or making a threat, but it felt like it.
With a stiff move of my foot, I began dancing with him. I can feel my knees wobbling incredibly in so much fear and nervousness. Hindi ko alam ang gagawin. Should I call for help? Why is running not an option for me?
I looked around. The guests looked so happy mingling in this boring event, dancing with their husbands and concubines. It didn't occur to them that a demon is dancing with me, right here.
Running means setting fire. They would panic, thinking how the hell did Jersen got into this private event despite the guards and soldiers outside?
Same question.
But people knowing about the gravity of the problem we're facing and also knowing that we looked inferior to the Serpents, they will lose our confidence. They will stop trusting Agreassine and withdraw their trainees form the academy.
"You're not supposed to be here." I whispered, barely even breathing. He managed to come in here despite the heavy security.
"Someone gave me an invitation. I can't waste it." He showed me a red and black invitation card with a seal of Hestin's family.
"Th-they gave it to you?"
Hinapit niya ako sa bewang lalo. Our closeness allowed me to sniff his manly and intoxicating scent. He looks rogue in his dark suit. We looked like couples dancing along with the soft and mellow music.
He's the alpha and I was his lost lady.
Well, that's for everyone's else perspective. To me, we look like he's trying to murder me because of the way he stare. And the way I try hard not to wither of fear made me look constipated, not fierce.
"Kind of."
"I will tell Lyko." I threatened him but of course, not now. Lyko will go berserk if he found out that he sneaked into this party and danced with me.
He told me he'd wage war, I don't doubt his words.
He chuckled, "Why are you telling me that? Gusto mo bang samahan kita?"
How I wish to be taken by Lyko or even Harold. Huwag lang sa demonyo'ng ito! I remembered what Lyko told me, I can say no. I can always say no when someone offers me a dance.
"Hindi ko alam anong gusto mo. Is this one of your games? Then, I'm telling you no one likes it." Binaba ko ang kamay mula sa balikat niya. "Please leave." I don't know but I'm quite sure that he won't hurt me.
"You know exactly what I want."
"I don't ---"
Napasinghap ako nang muli niya akong hapitin muli sa bewang. I collided on his chest and he easily supported me, "You. I want you." Kiniling niya ang ulo, "I'm sure we both know that."
His hand went up to my face to caress it with his thumb. The contact sent shivers down my spine, hindi ko alam kung takot ba iyon o ano.
"Hindi ko alam..."
