Chapter 45 - Aftermath

Just like any other choices, there'll always be consequences. Just like surgeries, there will be complications. Just like any other wars, there will be an aftermath. 

"Kamusta naman ang paa mo?" Tanong ko sa nakasaklay na si Franco. 

Umirap ito sa'kin at saka lumapit, "Why'd you even ask about something that's already gone." Biro niya.

 Although, we both know how much he wailed upon knowing that he'll lose one of his legs. Hindi niya matanggap na malapit na siyang maging imabalido dahil sa nangyari. A wolf tore his leg off his body. 

It was a hard time for him, especially that he was alone in the infirmary. He almost ruined the room itself because of his rage. Those who have suffered multiple serious injuries are in the VIP section and weren't allowed to be visited by anyone unless they're about to be discharged.

And I tell you, the scene there was horrible. Ang sakit sa puso na makita mo ang mga kasama mo sa training na nag-aagaw buhay. Everyday, the infirmary was full of screams of pain. 

"Do you think they'll really do it?" Tanong ni Anrys na nasa tabi ko. 

"What?"

Ngumuso siya sa direksyon ng academy, "Tear it down?"

I shrugged, "I don't know."

Since the war has finally passed and the academy would no longer be of use for our special abilities, mother suggested that we should ruin the building. Tear it down, destroy it and the memories it hold.

Usap-usapan ang naging desisyon ng reyna sa buong kaharian. Hindi ko alam anong pumasok sa isip niya at gusto niyang gawin iyon. Even if the building remains or not, wala namang mangyayari. 

"Sena and Erix will lose their job." 

"Also, there are rumors that the trainees are planning to revolt." Sabi ni Yi Shan. Hindi ko lang alam kung sino ang kausap niya dahil nawala na ang mga mata nito, "They said that the royalties are throwing them out because they aren't needed anymore. Pruweba raw ang pagsira sa academy."

"Some professors are even joining them." Dagdag ni Franco.

"Bakit? Akala ko ba ay propesyunal sila." Sabi ko.

"Well, just like what I said earlier, they'll lose their job." Bumunot ng damo si Anrys.

I scoffed, "Agreassine is a huge place! I'm certain they could find some job worthy to do."

Mayaman ang lupain na pinaghaharian ng pamilya namin. I'm sure, with a couple hundreds of trainees set out from the academy to work, they'll find one. Hindi naman mahirap maghanap ng mapagt-trabahuan dito. 

"Lyko, our trainees spent almost their entire lives inside the academy. They didn't know how the outside life works." 

"I have spent my entire life behind these gates. Not almost. But I know how Agreassine works." Mapait kong saad. 

Hindi na sila sumagot at mataman nalang akong tiningnan. Tinanaw ko na lamang ang halos papalubog araw. It's almost time to do my usual routine again. 

Pumasok ako sa loob ng palasyo at sinigurong walang makakarinig sa yapak ko. The house has become gloomy and sad ever since father died. Hindi maipagkakaila ang kalungkutan na nakabalot sa buong palasyo kaya walang kahit sino ang nagtatangkang bumisita sa amin.

Especially that Agreassine has no king. No one was left to rule except for my mother and I. And nobody wants a woman to lead, they don't want my mother. With the decisions she made with the academy and forcing out the trainees, they wanted her off the throne.
