Reese & Elisha
Tuesday
It had been two days since Elisha spoke to Reese. He had asked for space after the argument they had on Sunday. He didn't answer her texts, leaving her on read. He didn't answer her calls or voice-mail. She was hurt. She was so mad with him, but at the same time, she realized she pushed him away with her insecurities. She met with the group at lunch, but Reese wasn't there. She knew it was because he didn't want to have to put on an act in front of everybody.
She did the same thing yesterday, so she couldn't be too mad at him. But she was.
Of course, Larissa and Kendra asked where Reese was, and David said Reese had to make up some work for a class, so he was taking care of that. Elisha didn't even question it. She knew that was a lie Reese told them. She knew her man.She missed her man.
After school was over, since there was no football or dance practice, Elisha went straight to Reese's car to wait for him.
She leaned against the driver's door of his car. That way, he had no choice but to hear her out.
Eventually, he showed up.
Reese could see Elisha leaning against his car from a distance. He sighed. He wasn't ready to talk to her just yet.
He wanted to make her wait and see what it felt like not to have him around. Maybe then, she would come to her senses and realize what she had."Hey," Elisha said with a somber expression.
"Hey,"
"So... you haven't been returning my calls, and you been leaving me on read."
"So you still with the accusin shit huh?"
"What?? No. You are actually doing that to me Reese, what you mean?" Elisha said, scrunching up her face.
" You still on that, I see. And yea, I did leave you on read because I'm done with the bullshit Lisha"
She sighed.
"I'm not trying to accuse you, I'm simply stating what you been doin"
"And I have every reason to. I'm tired of being accused of shit I ain't do. How would you feel if I out the blue ask you 'are you cheating on me'?" Reese asked, imitating her voice.
"I dont wanna argue, Reese. I'm here so we can talk"
"About what?" He asked, crossing his arms.
"About us... I'm sorry for accusing you, Reese. I'm trying to work on myself and deal with my insecurities, but it's not easy."
"I didn't say it was, but if you know you got an issue, don't blame other people for that. You need to take responsibility for yo' shit. Just like I gotta take responsibility for mine."
Elisha nodded, looking down at the ground.
"Look at me," Reese commanded.
She looked into his eyes. He could see her eyes watering.
"I may be a lot of things, but I ain't a cheater. You can't say no girl ever came to you with some shit about me fuckin around. Ion move like that. If I wanted to fuck around with these girls, I would just be single. Cause this shit right here is stressful".
Elisha remained silent as he spoke his piece.
" I love you. You either believe that shit or you don't. I don't got time to play games with your heart baby. I've proven my loyalty to you over and over and if that ain't enough, I don't know what to tell you."
