Chapter 57 When the Truth is Revealed

Earlier that afternoon, around 3 pm.

Danielle phoned Brian and asked him to come over. She had decided to prepare a delicious dinner for him, knowing that he had been feeling stressed and preoccupied lately. Brian had recently started a new job that he found quite demanding, especially since it required him to work the night shift. Despite apologizing repeatedly to Danielle, she reassured him that she understood the situation, even though she wasn't thrilled about it. After confirming that he would be free, Brian agreed to visit her that day and was eager to spend some quality time with her. Danielle wanted to make the evening memorable. With her parents out until eight and Larissa not expected to be home until six, she felt she had plenty of time to cook and pamper Brian. To add a special touch to their night, she had bought a lingerie set from Fashion Nova. She was thrilled. When Brian arrived, she greeted him at the door and immediately embraced him, wrapping her arms around his neck while he held her close.

" Mmm, I missed you baby" she purred, pulling away slightly to admire him.

" I missed you too" he said in a seductive tone. "Somethin' smell good"

"Thanks babe. I made salmon, asparagus, and my homemade mac and cheese".

"Damn..you really went all out for a nigga huh?" He smirked.

"I sure did" she giggled.

"What's this you wearin'?" he asked, his eyes fixated on the gray satin robe and silver heels she had on.

"Oh just a lil sumthin-sumthin" she giggled.

"I see.." he smirked, scanning her from head to toe.

He approached her closely, licking his lips, as she playfully backed away.

"I know you cooked and all, but I think I'm ready for dessert right now"

Danielle blushed. "Oh I almost forgot, I did get your favorite..sweet potato pie"

"Mmm, alright, but I think I'm craving a different kind of pie" he spoke, his voice dripping with desire.

She giggled, flattered by how turned on he was by her appearance. "You are too much boy."

She closed the door behind them and took his hand, leading them to the spacious dining room.

"Have a seat," she instructed, disappearing into the kitchen. The kitchen island was filled with delicious food. She quickly prepared a plate for him and returned to the table.

The dining table was beautifully decorated with candles that Danielle lit.

"Damn, this is so sweet baby" Brian grinned. "I owe you one."

After fixing her own plate, Danielle sat across from Brian at the table.

Raising their champagne glasses, Brian spoke "I wanna make a toast to the love we got for each other. I love you, babygirl," Brian said as they clinked glasses.

"I love you too"

They enjoyed their meal together and caught up on the days they had spent apart. Danielle hadn't spent time with Brian since Halloween night, only briefly crossing paths at school.

Brian reached for her hand, and she willingly gave it to him. Their eyes met, causing Danielle to blush. She knew she was deeply in love with Brian, and it seemed he felt the same, despite his cool demeanor.

They became distracted by the sound of Brian's phone buzzing on the table.

"Can you please put your phone over there?" Danielle requested, nodding towards the storage cabinet in the dining room.
