Taken by the siren's hand
Led into the devil's heart
I was dragged across this line
I was burned and scarred
But life was worth it after all
And now I'm coming home
Vital Signs ~ Take Us To VegasBANG.
"Peyton." Blake yelled.
I snapped my head up so fast I fell off my seat. "Wha....what?"
"Oh shit." He laughed. "Are you okay?"
No I wasn't okay. I had the worst hangover I'd ever had in my life. We'd spent last night at Matt's drinking and drinking until all hours of the morning. I'd been so drunk that I barely remember half of the night. Today I was so sick, but Matt, Sam and Brian were fine and I wasn't sure how that was possible.
"I will be." I mumbled standing up.
"I need you out here."
I followed him out while he chuckled.
"What do you want?" I moaned.
"Sit, listen." He said handing me headphones.
I put them on, glancing around. Matt was standing around talking to Arin and Brian and Zack were recording something.
"Are you listening to that?" Matt asked, looking over at me.
I nodded, waiting for Blake to play it.
"Ready?"
I nodded, yes I was ready.
Suddenly Matt's voice filled my ears and I listened closely. It was a beautiful song, a slow song and I closed my eye's, listening. His voice was beautiful and it soothed me.
"What do you think?" Blake asked quietly, removing the headphones.
"It's perfect."
"See?" Blake said, looking at Matt.
"Do you think so?" He asked.
"Does who think what?" Rosie asked, walking in.
"A song, listen to it." I said.
Blake handed her the headphones and she listened to it. I could tell by her face she liked it as much as me.
"Oh yeah." She said looking at Matt. "That is great."
"Good." He said, walking over to us. "I wasn't sure."
"Oh definitely." I added.
"Thanks." He said smiling at me.
"Anyway." Rosie said. "I need to borrow Peyton for the afternoon."
"Take her, she's useless anyway." Blake told her.
"Thanks." I muttered.
"You have a hangover."
"Blame him." I said pointing to Matt.
I stood up while they all laughed at me, I didn't find it amusing.
"Let's go." I said to Rosie.
"Peyton." Matt said as I turned to leave. "What time tonight?"
What time tonight what?
My face must have gave me away. "Dinner at your place, you asked me last night."
"Oh yeah of course." I had no recollection of that. "Around 7 if you're done here."
"See you then." He smiled.
I went into the office and grabbed my bag, following Rosie to her car.
"Peyton, we have two problems." She told me, driving.
"Three Rosie, I need food."
"Okay three problems."
"What's the first?" I asked.
"Matt. Peyton please don't go there."
I looked at her shocked. "God Rosie, I'm not."
"He's damaged." She said softly.
"I know that, we just get on well, that's it, nothing more."
"I just don't want to see you hurt." She said, reaching over and squeezing my hand.
"I'm well aware of his past Rosie, it's fine."
"Good, I'm glad." She said. "Now what food do you want?"
I shrugged. "Greasy."
We drove in silence for awhile and I started thinking about Matt, I really couldn't believe Rosie would think I would consider him as a love interest, he had baggage, too much baggage.
"Rosie?" I asked.
"Yeah."
"What's the second problem?"
"Fuck." She said, and I looked over, noticing she was crying.
"Rosie?"
"I'm pregnant Peyton." She cried. "Blake hates kids."
Fuck.
