Baby, seasons change but people don't
And I'll always be waiting in the back room
I'm boring but overcompensate with
Headlines and flash, flash, flash photography
But don't pretend you ever forgot about me
Don't pretend you ever forgot about me
The Take Over, The Breaks Over ~ Fall Out Boy"Hmmm." Rosie said, looking at my phone. "What a prick."
I nodded, leaning forward and grabbing my phone back.
"I have some ideas for when we get there." She continued.
I nodded, just great. We were on our way to Matt's because Rosie suddenly decided that yes, she did want to go to Matt's for the afternoon. She had an ulterior motive, I just knew it.
I looked at the pictures again, the pictures that had shown up on my twitter feed, photos of Matt and Tess. Apparently she could post pictures but I couldn't. I hated him.
"Now." Rosie said, turning to look at me. "When we get there, act cool, like you don't give a fuck about him."
"I don't." I piped up.
"Bullshit Peyton." She smirked. "Act cool, act casual, be happy for him."
"Happy for him?"
"Yes, like him and Tess are an item, act like it's wonderful, and oh, oh my god, flirt with Brian."
"I'm not flirting with Brian." I groaned.
"Yes you are. Now." She said as we arrived. "You look fabulous, now flaunt it."
I rolled my eye's, getting out of the car. Blake looked at me and raised his eyebrows, smirking, that asshole.
I followed Rosie and Blake in, Rosie didn't care, she just marched straight in like she owned the place.
"We're here." She called, making an entrance.
I glanced around, Matt was with Tess, no surprise and I tried to look uninterested.
"Peyton." Brian called, coming over to me.
I smiled widely at him, maybe I would flirt. "Hi."
"Drink?" He asked.
"I'd love a beer."
I kept smiling until he walked off then I grabbed a seat next to Rosie.
"Well look at that." Rosie murmured. "Guess who's coming over?"
I didn't need to ask who, I already knew.
"Hey." Matt said, sitting next to me. "I'm glad you came back."
"Yeah well." I said shrugging. "I had nothing better to do."
I heard Rosie snigger.
"You didn't have to leave in the first place." He said.
"Oh you know, I could see you two needed time together." I said, looking everywhere but at him. "The photos are cute."
"Huh?" He said looking at me.
"Oh oh my god, they are." Rosie screeched, leaning over to look at him. "Such a cute couple."
"What are you talking about?"
"I mean I can understand Matt, it's a natural progression really." Rosie went on.
"I'm lost." Matt said, looking dumbfounded.
"Oh here." Rosie said, getting out my phone and going on twitter. "You look so, oh what's the right word, right together?"
I sat there nodding in agreement, although I didn't agree, not at all.
Matt took the phone and looked at it, his brow furrowed. "Ah." Was all he said.
Ah yes, you fucking ass. I wanted to grab his throat and throttle the shit out of him.
"Oh here." Brian said, suddenly appearing and handing me a beer.
I smiled up at him, taking it.
"Peyton." Matt said softly. "This isn't.....can we talk?"
"Matty." Tess called.
Ugh, her voice annoyed me so much.
"Your girl wants you." Rosie said smiling.
"What?" Matt said exasperated.
"Matt." Tess called, more firmly.
"Better go." I smiled.
Matt shook his head. "Peyton."
"MATT." She virtually screamed.
He rolled his eyes and stood up, walking over to her.
"Well." Rosie said. "That was interesting."
"Yeah real interesting." I said sarcastically.
"Well it was to me Peyton." She said, leaning over towards me. "I actually think he likes you, not her."
I looked over at them, her hanging off him.
She looked exactly like his late wife, the woman he'd wanted to spend the rest if his life with.
I couldn't compete with that, I wasn't even going to try.
