So sorry you're not here I've been sane too long my vision's so unclear
Now take a trip with me but don't be surprised when things aren't what they seem
I've known it from the start all these good ideas will tear your brain apart
Scared but you can follow me I'm too weird to live but much too rare to die
Bat Country ~ Avenged SevenfoldMatt's POV
"So everything is ready?" Brian asked.
I looked around at the stage. "Everything is ready."
"Man I can't wait." He said.
I nodded, I had to agree, it felt nice to be getting back into again. "I can't either."
"So, see you soon?" He asked.
"Yeah I'm just going to head back home and pick up Peyton."
"Okay cool." He said. "Oh and you know, I am happy that things worked out with her."
"Thanks." I told him. "That means a lot." And it did, especially coming from Brian. "See ya."
I headed out to my car. I was going home to pick up Peyton, get a few things and try and eat something, but honestly I had a few butterflies in my stomach, so eating maybe wasn't such a good idea.
I couldn't wait for the show tonight, but I especially couldn't wait to perform knowing that Peyton was there watching me. It felt good to have someone who supported me by my side and I was so lucky that it was Peyton.
The traffic was light and t didn't take me long to get home. Well I called it home, it was actually Peytons place but in a couple of weeks we'd be moving into our own place and honestly, I couldn't wait.
I let myself in, looking around. It was quite and I hoped that Peyton wasn't sick again, not tonight. She'd been sick on and off for almost two weeks and I think it was getting her down. She'd been really quite last night and I was pretty sure I'd heard her crying in the bathroom this morning.
"Babe." I called.
"Oh Matt." She said, walking out of the bedroom, wiping her face. "You're home."
"Well yeah, I said I'd come back and get you."
"Oh yeah."
I looked at her, her eye's were all red, she'd been crying again.
"Baby." I murmured pulling her into my arms. "What's wrong? Are you sick again?"
She buried her face in my chest, shaking her head.
"Then what's up?" I asked, kissing the top of her head.
She lifted her face and looked at me, biting her lip. "Oh god Matt." She groaned. "I'm pregnant."
What?
"What?"
"I don't know how it happened, oh god." She cried, bursting into tears.
"How?" I asked her, holding her at arms length. "We are always so careful."
She shook her head, crying. "Not careful enough."
I stepped away from her. "Well you're going to take care of it right?"
I didn't want a baby, not now, not ever.
"What?" She asked, looking confused.
"You're getting rid of it right?" I told her. "I don't want kids."
She opened her mouth but nothing came out.
I sincerely hoped she wasn't considering keeping it, I really did.
"What a fucking mess Peyton." I snapped, picking up my car keys. "You need to sort this shit out, I want nothing to do with a baby and I can't be around you until you get rid of it."
She sobbed as I opened the door but I'd told her from the start, no kids.
"Call me when it's done." I said, slamming the door.
Fuck. How did this happen? A baby. A baby would not fit into my life style. I didn't want kids with my first wife, what made Peyton think she was any different?
I got in my car, driving back to the venue, the only difference now was my mood, it was black.
"I need somewhere to stay for a couple of days." I told Brian.
"Is everything okay?" He asked me.
"Look." I snapped. "Can I stay or not?"
He looked at me. "Yeah, yeah of course you can."
"Good." I said. "Now let's go out there and kill it."
And I meant it, I wanted to kill this show tonight and not think about Peyton or that baby. Only when she'd taken care of things would I speak to her again, there was no room for a child in my life and Peyton had better get that through her head or we were over.
