You're as cold as ice
You're willing to sacrifice our love
You never take advice
Someday you'll pay the price, I know
Cold As Ice ~ ForeignerI rolled over and threw my alarm clock across the room. I didn't want to go into the studio today, I wanted to call in sick again but I couldn't. It had taken me hours yesterday to convince Rosie that nothing was wrong, if I didn't go today I'd have to deal with her again.
I got up and had a shower then stood at my wardrobe for ten minutes. I didn't know what to wear. Two days ago I would have grabbed anything, putting it on, not caring what anybody thought, knowing I looked good, but now, in a matter of a few minutes, my self confidence had been destroyed, I was unsure of what to put on, I was unsure of anything.
I grabbed a pair of jeans and a shirt, pulling my hair back. I applied a little bit of make up but as I looked at myself I felt stupid, ridiculous.
How could one moment, with one person make me feel like this?
I didn't have breakfast, I just grabbed a coffee on the way and as I pulled up at the studio I noticed that everyone was already here.
I grabbed my coffee, took a deep breath and headed inside.
They were already at it when I entered but they all looked up at me as I walked in.
"I'll be catching up with paperwork." I told them all, walking into the office and shutting the door.
If I didn't have to see Matt I'd be okay.
"Hey." Blake said sticking his head. "You okay?"
"Yeah." I said shuffling some papers on my desk.
"Peyton." He said and I looked up at him. "We're nearly done."
"Well that's good news." I said and he nodded, shutting the door and leaving me alone again.
It was good news because now I would never have to see Matt again.
I groaned and layed my head on my arm. I could still see the look of disgust on his face and I wanted to disappear into a hole. I didn't ask him to kiss me so did he have to act like such a dick about it?
Enough, I told myself, getting back to what needed to be done, I would just stay in here until they left, I had no need to see them.
And that was my plan until about three hours later the door flew open and Brian came in.
"We're finished." He yelled. "Done."
"That's great." I said glancing up.
"Great? It's fucking fabulous."
"I guess." I said looking at my computer.
"Peyton." He said, sounding a little hurt.
"Come on." Blake said walking in. "We're all going to get a drink and celebrate."
"Um no Blake." I said. "I really need to get this done."
"Bullshit." He snapped.
I glanced up again and now Matt was standing in the doorway too.
"You'll have more fun without me."
"Peyton." Matt said softly.
I pretended I didn't know he was there.
"Girl." Rosie screeched, pushing past Matt and walking in. "I'm designated driver, get your ass up, we're going out."
I glared at her and she glared back. There really was no point in arguing with Rosie.
"Fine." I said standing up. "I'll come for one."
"Good." She said smiling and hooking her arm through mine.
"Hurry up." Blake called.
We walked out, past Matt and I looked down, I couldn't look at him, I didn't want to look at him.
"So." Brian said as we all got outside. "Who's going in who's car?"
"I'll drive." Matt volunteered and it was a given that Rosie would due to the baby on board.
"Excellent." Blake said climbing in Rosie's car.
I walked towards Rosie's car.
"Peyton." Matt said quietly. "You can come with me."
"I'll be right." I said opening the back door of Rosie's car and getting in.
There was absolutely no way I was ever having anything to do with that man again.
