Some search, never finding a way
Before long, they waste away
I found you, something told me to stay
I gave in, to selfish ways
And how I miss someone to hold
When hope begins to fade
Dear God ~ Avenged Sevenfold

I looked in the mirror, I looked terrible. My hair was stringy, my face bruised, my chest ached and when I lifted my shirt I understood why. I had an enormous bruise, from my left shoulder down to my waist in the perfect outline of the seatbelt.
God, he was going to be here any second and look at me, I looked disgusting.
I grabbed a hair band, I would tie my hair back, that would help, then I stopped and looked at my wrist, I couldn't even do that.
I looked back in the mirror and burst into tears, I felt terrible and I looked terrible and great that was the doorbell.
I wiped at my face gently but it was useless, the tears kept coming so I opened the door blubbering like an idiot.
"Peyton." Matt said, looking shocked. "What's wrong?"
"I just want to tie my hair back." I sobbed, holding up the hair band.
He smiled. "Come on, let me put this stuff in the kitchen and I'll tie your hair back."
I nodded, following him. He put a couple of bags on to the counter and turned to me. "I got us some breakfast."
I nodded, I didn't want breakfast, I couldn't eat.
"Now sit here." He said softly, guiding me into one of the chairs at the bench.
I sat down and closed my eye's while he did my hair softly and I sighed, it felt really nice.
"Okay." He said smiling. "Time for you to eat."
"I can't." I whispered.
"Peyton, you have to eat."
"I'm just not hungry Matt." I said standing up. "But you can eat."
"Did you sleep?" He asked me.
"Not very well."
"Did you take your pain tablets?"
I shook my head.
"Peyton, why not?"
"I don't like the way they make me feel, they make me feel, ugh I don't know." They made me numb and sleepy. "They make me feel vulnerable."
He smiled. "Eat something, take your tablets and sleep, I'll be here."
"I can't eat." I groaned.
He reached out and pulled me to his chest, gently. "You can, you need to too."
I closed my eye's, my head on his chest, it felt nice and I liked it.
"Now, food." He said kissing the top of my head.
I sat down while he got us something to eat and when he placed it front of me I attempted to eat what I could.
"Now." Matt said, handing me a glass of juice and my tablets. "Take them."
I didn't argue, I took two, drinking the whole glass of juice.
"Come on." He said taking my hand.
He led me into the living room. "Do you want to lay here?"
I shrugged, I didn't know.
"Poor Peyton." He said smiling again. He pulled me into his arm's once more and before I could even think, his lips found mine.
Oh god, what was he doing?
I put my good hand on his chest, pushing him away. "No, what are you doing? We're meant to talk."
I wanted to talk and here he was confusing me again.
"Fine." He said softly. "We'll talk."
He sat on the couch and pulled me onto his lap, putting his arm's around me and confusing me again.
"What do you want to talk about?" He murmured smiling.
It felt so nice, curled up on his lap and I could feel my eye's getting heavy.
"You." I whispered.
"What about me?" Was he kissing my face?
I opened my eye's a little to see him smiling at me.
"You confuse me." I whispered, closing my eyes again.
"How do I confuse you?" He asked, brushing his lips across mine.
It felt so nice, I was snug and comfortable and safe.
"Stop kissing me." I murmured.
He didn't, he kissed me again and I smiled, drifting away. I was sinking into sleep.
"No." He murmured.
I needed to know, before I fell asleep I just needed to know. I tried to open my eyes but they were just too heavy.
"I don't know what you want Matt." I whispered. "What do you want?"
"Ugh Peyton." He murmured and his lips were next my ear. "You silly." He kissed me again. "I only want you."
Did he say me? I thought as I drifted off to sleep.
"I want you too." I murmured.
"Good." And I felt his lips on my skin again as I fell asleep.
A sound sleep. A settled sleep. An extremely happy sleep.
