I feel insane every single time
I'm asked to compromise
Cause I'm afraid and stuck in my ways
And that's the way it stays
So how long did I expect love to outweigh ignorance?
By that look on your face I may have forced the scale to tip
I'm not insane
Almost Easy ~ Avenged Sevenfold

I was in pain, happy to be home, but starving and Rosie was taking her sweet ass time answering the door. I could hear her whispering furiously with the food guy but I wished she'd just hurry up.
"Rosie." I called.
She stuck her head in. "It's not the food."
"Well who is it?" I asked her.
"Me." Matt announced, pushing past Rosie.
I groaned internally. Was it possible to be pissed but ecstatic at seeing someone simultaneously?
"How are you?" He asked, sitting near me.
I'd say next to me but I was sprawled out on the couch and he sort of squeezed himself on the end.
"I've been better." I told him.
"That's understandable." He said softly, smiling.
"I need food." Rosie announced, walking in. "I'm serious."
"I could have gotten something." Matt said.
"Well yes you could have, if we'd known you were coming." Rosie said somewhat sarcastically.
I looked at them. Something was going on between them, I just wasn't sure what.
"Yeah, sorry about that." Matt mumbled.
Rosie just glared at him.
"Um so what are you doing here?" I asked, attempting to change the subject.
"Well it's obvious Peyton." Rosie said.
I looked at her, waiting for her to explain herself, but before she could the doorbell went again.
This time it was food which made Rosie extremely happy.
Rosie had ordered enough for ten people so there was plenty for Matt and we all sat there, eating quietly.
"Not hungry?" Matt asked me, looking at my plate.
"Yes but no."
I was hungry but I was also sore and in pain.
"Well here." Rosie said, getting up and going into the kitchen. She came back out carrying the pain tablets the hospital had sent home with me. "Please Peyton, take them."
She was right, they were here, and I was in pain, so I took two.
I tried to finish eating but I couldn't and I was surprised when Matt started cleaning up after us.
When he went into the kitchen I looked at Rosie, she looked back, raising her eyebrows.
"Well." She announced, standing up. "I'm going to make sure Blakes behaving himself, call me later."
I agreed as Matt walked her to the door. I layed on the couch as those two went about another episode of intense whispering.
I closed my eye's, I was beginning to feel tired.
"Tired?" Matt asked, walking back in.
I nodded, smiling.
He came over to the couch and gently grabbed my legs, lifting them up so he could sit down.
I smiled to myself. I liked him being close.
"Sleep." He told me.
I took his advice and let myself drift off, but his phone ringing woke me a short time later.
I layed there, with my eye's closed, listening.
"Yeah." He answered.
It was her, Tess. I could hear her shrill voice from where I was, only I couldn't make out what she was saying.
"At Peytons." Matt answered. "I don't know..........probably not."
I wondered what she was saying?
"I don't really feel like going there Tess." He told her.
I wondered where and as I layed there wondering I noticed something. Matt was talking to Tess, but the whole time he was talking to her he was rubbing my leg softly.
"Like I said, probably not, anyway I'll see you."
He hung up and I opened my eye's and looked at him.
"Do you need to be somewhere" I asked.
Nope." He murmured. "Only here."
I took a deep breath. "Good." I whispered.
Oh god, what had I just said?
Matt smiled at me and reached out, taking my hand. "Yes, very good." And he squeezed my hand gently. "I'll probably hang around awhile."
I layed there looking at him.
As far as I was concerned, he could hang around forever.
