Tensions were rising and anxiety was at an all time high as the entire family sat around in the living room in complete silence. No one was willing to be the first person to break that silence. And just when Taehyung felt like he was at the end of his patience and couldn't wait any longer, DeiJi spoke up, immediately gaining everyone's attention.

"Before I say anything, first I would like to offer my apologies to Mr & Mrs Kang and to Ji-ah as well on behalf of my Grandson. It was my oversight that allowed this to happen. I was under the impression that Taehyung was already aware of his impending marriage since it had been decided three years ago. And hence I never felt the need to talk about it with him over the years. And I accept my mistake in not communicating with my Grandson about this. Please accept my apology."

Ji-ah didn't say anything other than still sniffing from time to time as she stood in a corner with Mina by her side. While the Kangs, although still upset, decided to not drag things on and accepted the apology with a heavy heart.

"We accept your apology, Eomonim. But we would still like to hear from Taehyung-ssi that he is ready for this marriage so that there isn't any more confusion in the future. My daughter has already waited three years for him only for him to not even recognize her. Ji-ah is my only daughter, Eomonim. And we have brought her up like a Princess and has never let even a single tear fall from her eyes. But your Grandson has not only made her cry on his very first day back, but he also broke her heart by not recognizing her. And that is unacceptable to me. I hope you understand." Mr Kang spoke with evident anger lacing his voice.

"BeomSeok-ssi, I assure you that all of this is nothing but a misunderstanding on my son's part. And he didn't deliberately try to insult you and your family, especially Ji-ah. But I understand as a father you are hurt and Taehyung does owe an apology to Ji-ah for making her upset. And I am sure he wouldn't have any problem in apologizing for his mistake. Isn't that right, Taehyung?" Hajoon spoke, giving a pointed look to his son, who had been listening to everything quietly and trying to digest everything that was being said. In his eyes, he didn't see what he had done wrong and why was everyone accusing him for something that he wasn't even aware of in the first place. But still his family seemed to think that somehow this was all his fault and he was responsible for not knowing that he was supposedly engaged.

"Appa, in order for me to apologize, I need to know what I have done wrong. I genuinely don't know who she is and why everyone is accusing me for something that I wasn't even aware of? I agree that all of you have brought up a marriage proposal for me three years ago. But I also remember saying No to it at the time. Now I have come back home after three whole years and suddenly I am told that not only do I have a fiance, but also she is the same person whom I already rejected three years back. Does this make any sense to all of you? Because it surely doesn't make any sense to me."

By this point, Taehyung was starting to lose his temper. If he had done something wrong, then he would be the first person to accept his mistake and beg for forgiveness. But seeing how his family was hellbent on making him believe that this was his mistake was something that he would never accept. Ji-ah started sobbing once again after Taehyung's speech, making the Kang's even more angry while his own family were looking at him like he had committed a huge sin. The only people who weren't looking at him like a culprit were his brothers, who looked more sad than angry.

"TAEHYUNG. APOLOGIZE RIGHT THIS SECOND TO JI-AH." Hajoon's voice echoed through the entire living room while Taehyung refused to budge from his position. Things looked like they were about to escalate even more, so DeiJi decided to speak up before more things are said that can't be taken back.

"Stop it, Hajoon. That's not the way to speak to your grown son. Yelling is not the answer and it certainly won't solve anything." DeiJi reprimanded her son, who huffed angrily but still sat back down, begrudgingly when Mi-Su looked at him with pleading eyes. DeiJi then turned her attention to Jungkook, who was standing right beside Taehyung, observing everything quietly. But his expression said that he wasn't happy at all with everything that was happening.
