Namjoon knew something was wrong the moment he stepped foot inside his bedroom. There were things thrown around all across the room. Pillows and clothes lying on the floor. All in all it was a complete mess and it didn't need a genius to figure out something had happened and it immediately put him on edge. He hadn't seen YoonSeo while coming upstairs. So, he just assumed she was in their room. But now after seeing the condition of their bedroom, his first thought was that something happened to his wife. And in a panic, he grabbed his cell phone and started dialing his wife's number when the washroom door opened and YoonSeo walked out with an expressionless face.
"YoonSeo, are you ok? Are you hurt somewhere? What happened? Is everything alright?" Namjoon asked, checking his wife from head to toe to see if she was fine. But instead of answering him, YoonSeo just pushed him away which made him feel hurt. But he ignored it for the time being since he needed to know what was happening. So, he went behind his wife who was removing things from the floor and neatly placing them on the bed.
"YoonSeo, please say something. I am worried for you. Did something happen? Or did someone say something?" Namjoon questioned, making YoonSeo halt her actions and turn around to face her husband.
"And what would you do even if someone said or did something?" She asked, mockingly, making him feel uneasy. YoonSeo had never spoken to him in this tone. Like she was being sarcastic and mocking him. And it was throwing him off.
"Why wouldn't I? But how can I do anything if you don't tell me what is bothering you?" Namjoon asked, reaching out his hand for her only for her to pull her hand back. She gave him a scornful look and walked towards their bedside drawer before opening it and removing something from inside.
"Here. Wear this." YoonSeo spoke, holding out a black beaded bracelet towards Namjoon, who looked at it confusingly before taking it out of her hand and looking at it.
"You brought me a bracelet?" That was the only thing he could think of because why else would she give him that. But at the same time, it didn't look like something she would buy for him. It looked tacky and somewhat cheap. Not that he cares about the price of things. But the bracelet was ugly as fuck. It looked more like a punishment than a gift.
"It's not from me. Your Halmoni gave it to me. I have one too. See." YoonSeo held up her hand and sure enough there was a matching bracelet the same as the one Namjoon was holding, in her wrist too.
"Halmoni gave it to you? Why?" He asked, bewildered.
"To wear it. Obviously. It's a magical bracelet. Apparently, It will make me pregnant. Isn't that amazing? What do you say?" Namjoon completely froze after hearing YoonSeo's explanation. He looked at YoonSeo not knowing what to say and before he could even open his mouth, she beat him to it.
"No. Please don't say anything. I don't want to listen. Besides, I already know what you are going to say. You will say, you're sorry. That you need some more time to talk to your family about your condition. That you will make everything alright. That I should just bear with it for a little while longer. Did I leave out anything? I think not. So, please just leave me alone for some time. I am in no mood to have a conversation. And I am afraid I might say something harsh that I won't be able to take back. So, please. Just leave me alone."
YoonSeo shut her eyes to control her anger and also because she didn't want to break down crying in front of Namjoon. So, she turned around and tried to walk out of the room when Namjoon stopped her by holding her wrist. She got annoyed and was about to snap at him when she heard the sound of beads clattering to the floor only to see Namjoon had broken the bracelet on her wrist.
"I know you are angry with me. And you don't wish to talk to me. And I understand. I would be angry at myself too if I was in your place. You don't have to wear that bracelet ever again. And if Halmoni questions you, tell her that I broke it. Or better yet, I will have a talk with her myself. I won't let you take the blame for me anymore. You don't have to leave the room. I will go instead. Take care."
