Jungkook was feeling suffocated. His heart was beating out of his chest while he could feel his lungs constricting due to lack of oxygen. His hands were clammy while his mind was all over the place. So many questions racking his brain, but there were no answers to any of those questions.

'Why now?'

'How did this happen?'

'What will he do now?'

Was it just a coincidence or was fate playing a cruel joke on him? No matter how hard he tried to make sense of things, the more confused he became and the more he felt like just running away from there. He didn't want to see his ex-boyfriend. The first boy he had fell in love with or thought he did. The very first boy who confirmed his doubts that he was a bisexual. The boy he lost his virginity to. The relationship that was cut short at its prime due to circumstances. He wasn't a boy anymore. Neither of them were. And Jungkook had never expected to see his past lover ever again in this life.

It wasn't because he still had some unresolved feelings for the said man. No, Jungkook knew that wasn't the case. He loves Taehyung. More than he has ever loved anyone in this world. More than his own life. But knowing that still didn't calm the storm brewing inside his heart. And he knew what it was. It was guilt. After all, he was the reason why Jaebeom's life was ruined. He got expelled from school and his name was tarnished everywhere just because of his relationship with Jungkook. He paid the price for being Jungkook's lover while all Jungkook could do was stay silent and shed tears.

He regretted not standing up for him and letting him take the fall all alone. And he regretted never reaching out to him ever again or even checking up on him after he got expelled. And that guilt and regret had stayed with him even after he left Korea and went to London. It took him a long time to let go of his past and move on with his new life. But now here he was once again, faced with a past he wasn't ready to face yet or ever in his life. Call him selfish. But he didn't want to see his past lover. He didn't want to interact with him. Oh how he wished he could just whisk himself and Taehyung out of there and just vanish somewhere. Now all he could do was to pray and hope that Jaebeom doesn't say anything in front of everyone.

"Ie...Kie...Kookie." Jungkook was startled out of his thoughts when he felt someone shaking his body and he turned to his side to see Taehyung look at him with concerned eyes.

"What's wrong, baby? I called your name so many times, but you weren't listening. You look really pale and lost? Is everything alright?" Taehyung asked, concerned. Jungkook looked around the table and noticed that Ji-ah and Jaebeom were not with them anymore while the rest of them were engrossed in their own conversations, not paying attention to Jungkook and Taehyung.

"Uhm, nothing Tae, I am alright. Where did Ji-ah go?" Jungkook asked, looking around the room, trying to spot them while Taehyung looked unconvinced.

"I don't know and I don't care. My mood is already spoiled. I am just glad that none of them have started their interrogations yet. Though I am pretty sure they're just waiting to get me alone to string me up and bleed me dry." Taehyung shuddered at the mental image his words created in his own mind and he looked at his friends who weren't even looking at him. But still in his mind, he could see them glaring at him and killing him with their eyes alone.

"They're your friends, Tae. I am sure they will understand once you sit them down and explain everything. Stop worrying so much." Jungkook spoke, trying to reassure his boyfriend.

"I don't care what my friends will do to me. They can beat me up to their heart's content later. But right now I am worried about you. You don't look too well. Are you coming down with something? Your skin is not too hot." Taehyung spoke, checking Jungkook's temperature with his palm.
