As I arrived at the office the next day, I passed by the office's bulletin board and couldn't help but notice Sam's photo posted on it. I paused for a moment, my gaze lingering on the image, unable to resist admiring Sam's presence captured in the photograph.

As I stood in front of Sam's photo on the office bulletin board, I couldn't help but speak to it inside my head. "You know, Sam, despite our past and how hurtful it was, seeing you every day actually feels kind of good," I said, a smirk playing on my lips as I admitted the unexpected sentiment.

As I was enjoying gazing at Sam's photo, a familiar voice suddenly spoke behind me. "Why are you gazing at the photo when you can gaze at me personally?" the voice teased.

Feeling a firm grasp on my arm, someone forced me to turn around. Startled, I found myself face to face with Sam, her playful smirk mirroring the one I had just worn.

Sam chuckled softly as she drew her face nearer to mine. "You can gaze all you want," she murmured, her breath warm against my skin.

Feeling slightly uncomfortable, I gently pushed Sam away, whispering, "Sam, someone might see us in this position."

Sam grinned mischievously, unfazed by my concern. "Let them see," she whispered back, her eyes twinkling with a hint of mischief.

Concerned about the potential for misunderstandings, I urged Sam to be careful with her actions. "Sam, we need to be cautious. Others might misinterpret our interactions and think there's something more going on between us," I cautioned, hoping she would understand the importance of discretion.

Sam, however, seemed unfazed by Mon's worries. "Why are you so anxious, Mon? I've already told everyone that I'm still in love with my ex," she replied nonchalantly, shrugging off any potential consequences.

"I don't want to cause any trouble," Mon insisted to Sam, her voice tinged with concern.

Sam, with a smirk on her face, retorted, "Mon, you've already troubled my world as soon as you submitted your job application." With that, she walked away, leaving Mon standing there, feeling a mix of confusion and unease.

As soon as Sam left, Noi suddenly appeared and greeted Mon. "Good morning, Mon. Was that conversation with Sam a bit early?" Noi inquired, a curious expression on her face.

I abruptly replied, "Oh, it was nothing, Noi. Sam just greeted me good morning and reminded me about some meetings." trying to brush off the conversation, not wanting to delve into any details with Noi.

We both chuckled as Noi said, "Alright, Mon. I'll go ahead then." I watched as Noi left, my curiosity piqued, wondering if Noi had overheard my earlier conversation with Sam. With a lingering sense of curiosity, I proceeded to my desk, my mind still mulling over the encounter with Sam.

Feeling anxious about my current situation working with Sam, I found myself blankly staring into space, absentmindedly scratching my head while furrowing my brows. Deep sighs escaped me, and I could sense the weight of the situation settling in. Yha and Chin noticed my behavior, and Yha, ever the observant one, called out to me.

"Mon, are you okay?" Yha asked, a teasing note in her voice. "It's only your third day at work, but it seems like you've been stressing out already."

I managed a weak smile, trying to downplay my concerns. "I'm fine, just adjusting," I replied, though my troubled expression betrayed my attempt at reassurance.

Yha's words brought some relief as she mentioned my conversation with Sam yesterday. "Is that why you seem bothered?" she asked, offering understanding. "It's okay, Mon. Sam can be hot-headed sometimes. Don't take it too personally."

Chin, ever the conversationalist, interjected with a playful remark. "That was so cool of Sam to confess in front of everyone that she still loves her ex," Chin said. "If the rumors are true and Sam's ex is a woman, I wonder how hot she must be for Sam to be head over heels for her."

Hearing Chin's comment, I couldn't help but smirk a little, finding some amusement in the situation. However, before we could continue our conversation, Sam called out to me from her office door, interrupting our discussion.

"Mon!"

As Sam called my name with authority, Yha, Chin, and I were startled by her sudden interruption. Sam's tone held a sense of urgency as she addressed me.

"Mon, I need you in my office," Sam said firmly, her tone leaving no room for argument.

Feeling a mixture of apprehension and curiosity, I nodded silently, exchanging a quick glance with Yha and Chin before making my way to Sam's office, wondering what awaited me there.

As Sam stood up, visibly releasing tension, I continued, "Sam, focus on what you currently have. I thought I could handle it, but like you, I'm also having a hard time."

Avoiding eye contact with Sam, I felt the weight of the situation pressing down on me.

"I can't let it go just like that," Sam added, leaning her face towards mine. After releasing my face, she held her head up, crossing her arms as she continued, "We need them. The company needs them, so we can't let it go."

Confused, I replied, "We need them?"

Sam raised an eyebrow, looking puzzled. "Yes, the company. What else are you talking about, Mon? Are we on the same page?"

Sam waited for a moment, gazing at me with a puzzled expression, but when I didn't reply and simply bowed my head in embarrassment, she continued. "There are suppliers and vendors who are pulling out their services from us," she explained. "I need you to help me coordinate with these contacts because my schedule is already full."

Out of embarrassment, I furrowed my brows and closed my eyes firmly to avoid looking at Sam. Suddenly, I heard Yha's voice informing Sam that her guests from the US were waiting for her for their meeting. Relief washed over me as I heard Sam's response to Yha.

"I'll just give instructions to Mon and I'll be there in a minute," Sam replied, alleviating my worry about being left alone in the tense situation.
