A year had passed since the birth of their baby, and life had settled into a comfortable, joyous routine for Mon and Sam. They strolled through the grocery store, pushing a cart filled with items for their anniversary celebration and supplies for their growing child.

Sam pushed the cart while Mon walked beside her, occasionally reaching over to grab an item off the shelf. Their baby, now a curious toddler, sat happily in the cart's seat, babbling away and reaching out for colorful packages.

"Can you believe it's been a year already?" Sam said, glancing over at Mon with a smile.

Mon nodded, her eyes sparkling with happiness. "Time flies when you're with the ones you love," she replied, reaching into the cart to tickle their baby's tiny foot, eliciting a giggle. "It feels like just yesterday we were bringing this little one home."

Sam laughed, a soft, contented sound. "I know. And now here we are, planning our anniversary and buying diapers in the same trip."

Mon chuckled, leaning in to give Sam a quick kiss on the cheek. "I wouldn't have it any other way."

They continued down the aisle, selecting ingredients for a special dinner they planned to cook together. As they passed the bakery section, Sam stopped and pointed to a beautifully decorated cake. "What do you think about this one? It looks perfect for our anniversary."

Mon examined the cake, nodding in approval. "It's lovely. And it'll be a nice treat after dinner."

As they finished up their shopping, they made their way to the checkout line. The cashier, an elderly woman with a kind smile, greeted them warmly. "What a beautiful family you have," she said, scanning their items.

"Thank you," Mon replied, exchanging a smile with Sam. "We're very lucky."

After paying for their groceries, they headed to their car, loading the bags into the trunk. Mon secured their baby in the car seat while Sam started the engine. As they drove home, their toddler babbled happily from the back seat, making both parents laugh.

Once they were home, they unpacked the groceries together, working in seamless harmony. Their baby crawled around the kitchen, occasionally pulling themselves up on Mon's leg for support.

Mon and Sam were busy in the kitchen, preparing dinner. Their baby, KhongKwan, crawled around happily, occasionally pulling themselves up on Mon's leg for support. The doorbell rang, breaking the peaceful moment.

"I'll get it," Sam said, wiping her hands on a towel and heading to the door. Mon watched her go, smiling as she continued to cook.

Sam opened the door to find Kirk standing there, looking weary but resolute. "Kirk," Sam said, surprised. "What are you doing here?"

Mon, hearing the conversation, picked up KhongKwan and walked towards the door. "Sam, what's going on?" she asked, concern etched on her face.

Sam turned to Mon, her eyes serious. "Mon, can you take our baby upstairs, please? I need to talk to Kirk."

Mon nodded, sensing the gravity of the situation. She held KhongKwan close and went upstairs, pausing to give Sam a reassuring look before heading to their bedroom.

Kirk gave a small, tired smile. "I'm not here for our... I mean your baby, Sam. I'm here to say goodbye. I'm leaving permanently."

Once Mon was out of earshot, Sam turned back to Kirk. "What do you mean, you're leaving permanently?"

Kirk sighed deeply. "I've transferred my company shares to KhongKwan, as agreed. I'm done with all of this. I just wanted to let you know personally."

Sam's eyes softened with understanding. "So, you and Nita... you're both moving on?"
