The wedding reception was winding down, the fairy lights twinkling softly in the garden as the last few guests lingered, chatting and laughing. Mon and Sam stood together, hands entwined, soaking in the joy and love surrounding them.

As the music played gently in the background, Mon's mother approached, her eyes glistening with unshed tears. She reached out and took Mon's hand, pulling her into a tight embrace. "My sweet Mon," she said, her voice trembling, "I am so happy for you. But I can't help feeling emotional knowing you won't be coming home anymore."

Mon hugged her mother back, feeling a lump form in her throat. "Mom," she said softly, pulling back to look into her mother's eyes, "I'll always be your daughter, and I'll always be here for you. But now, Sam needs me more than ever."

Mon glanced at Sam, who was standing nearby with a tender smile on her face. "Mom," Mon continued, "we're going to have a baby. Sam and I are starting a family, its a long story but and I need to be there for her and our child."

Her mother's eyes widened with surprise and joy. "A baby?" she exclaimed, her tears turning to ones of happiness. "Oh, Mon, that's wonderful news!"

Sam stepped forward, taking Mon's hand. "We wanted to tell you sooner, but we thought today would be the perfect day to share it with you," Sam said, her voice filled with emotion.

Mon's mother reached out, taking both of their hands in hers. "I'm so proud of you both," she said. "And I'm so grateful that my daughter has found such a loving partner. Sam, you're part of our family now, and we couldn't be happier."

Mon squeezed her mother's hand. "Thank you, Mom. Your support means everything to us."

They shared a moment of silence, the weight of the day's emotions settling over them. Mon's mother wiped her tears and smiled. "You two are going to make wonderful parents. And remember, no matter where you are, you always have a home with us."

Sam nodded, her eyes glistening. "Thank you. That means the world to us."

As the night drew to a close, Mon and Sam bid farewell to their guests, receiving hugs and well-wishes from everyone. Mon's mother hugged them tightly one last time before they left, whispering words of love and encouragement.

When they finally slipped away from the reception, Mon and Sam walked hand in hand towards their car, ready to start their new life together. As they drove away, Mon looked over at Sam, feeling a deep sense of contentment and anticipation for the future.

"We're really doing this," Mon said softly, squeezing Sam's hand.

Sam smiled, her eyes shining with happiness. "Yes, we are. And I can't wait to see what the future holds for us and our baby."

As they drove off into the night, their hearts were full, knowing that no matter what challenges lay ahead, they would face them together, with love and unwavering support.

After the wedding reception, Mon and Sam drove home, the night sky dotted with stars, casting a serene glow over the world. The car was filled with a comfortable silence, both of them basking in the joy and love that had surrounded them throughout the day.

As they pulled up to their home, Mon turned off the engine and glanced at Sam, her eyes sparkling with happiness. "We're home," she said softly, a warm smile playing on her lips.

Sam returned the smile, her heart swelling with love. "Our home," she echoed, leaning over to kiss Mon gently.

They stepped out of the car, Mon grabbing the bouquet of flowers and the leftover slices of wedding cake they had brought back with them. Sam walked around to meet Mon, intertwining their fingers as they made their way to the front door.
