Liza finally got to class and sat next to me.

"Liza I'm about to explode what the hell is going on dude?!" I tried not be loud but failed.

"What's up dude? What, that Felix wants you?" Liza questioned.

"So....Felix and I know eachother from WAYYYY back..!" I peeped

She hit my elbow lightly ,
"And you didnt say anything!? OF COURSE he would want you, his hot old childhood best friend!" Liza spoke loudly.

"Shut up bro!" I covered her mouth, panicked.

"He just came up to me and reintroduced himself and everything and said he wanted to reconnect with me.." I took my hand off Liza's mouth. Her eyes widened and the corners of her lips turned into a smile. She didnt say anything, she waited for me to continue.

"So he definitely doesn't want me, it's just platonic because we used to be best friends!" I explained.

"Yeah right Susy." She said as she turned to face the board. "So you want him back or what? He sure is nice to look at." She giggled.

I swear if I could've killed Liza right in that moment, I would've.

I glanced over to peek at Felix, who was already looking at me. I quickly darted my eyes back onto the board where the teacher was trying to explain systems. Could Felix actually want me in that way? No. A boy and a girl can be friends without there being any romantic interest. I suddenly felt my phone vibrate. I took it out of my back pocket and read a message from an unknown number.

"Taking a look at me cuz I'm so handsome huh?"

Felix.

We're basically strangers and he's acting like this?  I mean, I guess we're not, but still, it's weird he's so comfortable around me so quickly. I decide to reply to him, but it can't be something like "Oh my gosh yea you're so handsome!!" I gotta keep my cool here.

"And humble too."

Yeah, that'll get him.

I send the message and see him smile as he reads it. I expected the conversation to end there, but he sent me another message.

"Do you get anything that happens in this class?"

Keeping the conversation going? In this day and age, boys just ghost you. So I was kinda shocked that he wanted to keep talking to me.

"Nah, not really😭"

"So you wanna get together and study one day?"

What?! Now he wants to hang out? Alone? Studying?

What am I on?

That's what friends do. Study together, hang out together, help each other out! I gotta get my head out the gutter. I show Liza my phone screen, having her read our messages. Her jaw drops.

"And you're gonna say yes, right? My place, and let's get a lot of studying done!" She says with a playful wink.

I scoffed at her. "Yes, I am gonna say yes, but studying is all we're gonna do."

"Sure." I reply to Felix. You can't give these boys TOO much.

"My place tomorrow after school then." He replies almost immediately.

Damn, I'm going to Felix De la Rosa's house tomorrow.
