"Emilio! Why would you give him my number are you stupid??" I shouted at Emilio as he sat back down.
Emilio sighed, "I guess you were right, Liza. He isn't into guys. But he is into our Susanna here."
I dug my face into my palms. I swear I was about to die from embarrassment. Felix probably just asked for my number as an excuse to reject Emilio. But still, why me? Could he have recognized me from all those years ago? No, I barely even recognized him! How would he recognize me? My head scrambled with so many questions. The screams of my friends cackling didn't help me organize my thoughts at all. The bell rang that indicated lunch was over. I practically ran to my 5th period. I was never in a rush to get to math, but today I was. Just to get away from everyone and everything. I sat down in my desk near the corner. I put my head down and closed my eyes.
Damn, Felix De la Rosa.
What was he up to?
I was glad to be away from my friends for a moment, to try and acknowledge what just happened.
"Hey Susy, you okay?"
I picked my head up, expecting Liza to be standing there consoling me.
Standing in front of me, was Felix.
