"Uh, Susanna? Sorry for calling you out of nowhere but I've just been thinking about you a lot lately. Message me back because I miss you, okay?"
As the voice message finished playing, silence filled the space. I didn't say a word, neither did Samuel. It was dead silent except for the faint sound of whatever song the radio was playing.
"I, uh, don't know what that's all about." I said after a while.
Samuel didn't reply, he just kept looking straight ahead.
I pressed Felix's contact and pressed messages. I spammed him with a bunch of angry messages.
Susanna: Felix what the fuck do you think you're doing?
Susanna: You're so embarrassing omfg
Susanna: Why would you pull something like this?I mashed my fingers angrily on the keyboard, typing quickly and furiously. Samuel glanced over to me quickly. I was receiving no response.
Susanna: Answer me and explain yourself!
Susanna: Stupid boy istf.I set my phone down on my lap and sighed to myself. Was he trying to ruin my life? I had just got it back on track. Perfect boyfriend, perfect dates, perfect friends, I was perfectly happy. Of course Felix being the selfish dick that he is, just has to take that away from me. Frustrated thoughts ran through my head. Fuck him! Suddenly, I felt my phone vibrate. I picked it up quickly and read the message.
Felix: come over and I'll explain everything.
Felix: *Sent a location*Huh?
He wants me to go see him in person? Fuck, should I? I bit my lip, thinking about every single consequence possible. What if I tell Samuel to drive over to the location he sent me? He would get even more pissed than he already is. But I kinda need to go to tell him to back off. And what if I do go and see him? What if I end up falling head over heels for him again?
What am I thinking? Why would I even think that?
I stared out the window, observing the street lights as I tried to contemplate what to do. The sudden taste of copper stopped my train of thought. Guess I was biting my lip too hard.
"Sam?" I spoke out.
"Yes?" He replied softly.
"Could you um, drive me here?" I said, handing him my phone. "Felix wants to talk in person." Should I have done that?
Samuel let out a soft chuckle. "Sure, precious."
I let out a deep sigh and slumped back in the seat. What could Felix possibly be up to?
I put my head back on the headrest and closed my eyes. Maybe I shouldn't have asked him to do that. Now I feel kinda bad. Samuel pulled up the GPS on his phone and now Siri was giving him directions to where Felix wanted to talk.
"So, do you miss him too?" Samuel said, breaking the silence.
"No, obviously not." I said, eyes still closed and head still on the headrest. "I'm with you, baby.", I said. My stomach churned, and I'm not sure why.
"Well, we're here. He wasn't that far away." He replied.
He parked the car into the driveway and turned to look at me.
"Let's go talk, huh?" He said, smiling at me.
I nodded at him and gave him a soft smile back before whispering "Thank you".
I got out of the car and walked up to the steps leading to the front door. It wasn't Felix's house, probably a friend's house he happened to be at. I turned around to see Sam still in the car, but he was standing behind me.
