"Whoa!! He's completely healed!!" Adel beamed as she held her face, her large brown eyes wide with joy.
The three of you were all joined at your own table filled with different finger foods and desserts from both the Underworld and the surface world.
Grim didn't waste any time at devouring whatever foodstuff he could get his little paws on, much to the exasperation of the random passersby who noticed your table and the amusement of Adel and yourself.
Any other time you would have admonished him for his gluttonous behavior, but this time, you were overjoyed to see he still had his appetite despite the long time without you.
"I never thought such a tiny kitty cat could eat so much!" Adel spoken cheerfully as she watched him go.
"Aie' n'ght ah kibbm!!" He said with a scrunched up nose, his mouth nearly full of food.
"Slow down, Grim, don't choke," you spoke gently as you patted his back as he coughed briefly before finishing his heaping plate.
He burped loudly and flashed a big, sharp-toothed grin.
You and Adel laughed, Adel clapping as her eyes watered from happy tears.
"Goodness," she said between giggles, "he's such a riot! I can't imagine enjoying life without this fellow to brighten up one's day!"
Grim raised a non-existent brow.
"Jeez, you guys are weird. Did you miss me that much?"
"...Adel?" An unfamiliar voice broke the jovial display and caused you to turn to its source.
You saw a handsome young man dressed in grey, his shiny honey-blonde hair swept in a gentleman's cut.
You squinted at him, something about his eyes looking familiar...
"Oh, Jules!" Adel craned her head merrily to see him, her head getting hit by the opening of his light grey tux coat, though she didn't seem to mind, "these were the friends I was telling you about, see?"
As his green eyes landed onto you, he froze.
Grim didn't seem to notice (or care) as he was too busy going for thirds.
Wait a minute...
This was the person Lilia had talked to when he came to abduct you.
You remembered he was called Julian.
"Jules?" Adel looked at her friend questionably, losing her smile.
Relief at the distraction, he breathed out before giving her an awkward smile.
"Ah, sorry, Adel...I guess I got lost in thought."
He took a nervous glance at you before he bowed to her.
"Sorry, but I mustn't stay long..."
"Huh-?"
He didn't hesitate to leave, Adel watching him go before she turned back to you, her brows furrowed in confusion and apology.
"Sorry, Y/n. I dunno what's gotten into him all of a sudden. He's usually a pretty upbeat guy."
"Um," you began, "he's a vampires though, isn't he?"
Adel regained his smile.
"Oh, but he's the same as my great-grandparents and them," she spoke with confidence, "he wouldn't hurt a fly. I was sure you'd get along great, but..."
You gave her a weak smile.
Did she not know who he was affiliated with?
Judging by his reaction to you, you were certain he was feeling guilty about it, but didn't care.
Let them drown, as they say.
Grim was right; you shouldn't allow yourself to get distracted in a place like this.
The vampires are charming and cunning, and good people like Adel were just tools to be used until they lost their use.
And to think, one day, she'll be turned into a vampire herself, probably adopting the same mindset as them.
Either that or be turned into food.
"Well, that's good that you're staying positive," she said, misreading your smile, "I'm glad that you're starting to feel more comfortable here!"
"Right," was all you said.

Today was surprisingly fun, as you got to go all throughout the mansion with Grim and Adel by your side.
You even got to pet a dragon!
Though, you worried about their threat level when your friends came to get you...
Nevermind, you shouldn't allow anything to impede your good mood.
Filled with cake and adrenaline declining from the eventful day, you were ready to bathe and rest.
Once the bathing and brushing of teeth got out of the way, you put on the new night gown that was laid on your bed and prepared for rest.
"Night, Grim," you said as he laid on the foot of your bed.
"Night, henchman."
You turned off the lights and left for dreamland.

Grim's POV:I'm in a field of flowers, the petals replaced with tuna cans and anchovies.
The sweet smell of BBQ sauce wafted into my nostrils, beckoning me to its siren call.
I ran as fast as I could to catch up to the end of the field and what do my eyes show me?
A beautiful full bodied turkey roast!
It's beautiful body was layered in a shiny glaze of BBQ and honey, and I could detect the mix of herbs and spices interlaced into its skin.
"C'mon, Grimmy," it cooed as its featherless wing waved me over, "ya know you're hungry."
"You betcha I am!" I winked as I made my way to it, ready to sink into my teeth into its tender honey and BBQ goodness.
Before I could, however, I felt a chill run down my spine.
I tried to ignore it, but the more I tried to get to my turkey roast, the more muddy and icy the scenery became until it became a muddled mess.
My eyes popped open and I was lookin' at someone's fancy black boots.
I knew I wasn't in the room with my human.
"W..where?"
"You are in a meeting with His Highness," a familiar voice said flatly behind me.
I whipped my head around to see my henchman's crush starin' his weird purple eyes at me, his frown stone cold.
I turned back to the black boots, and whadiya know, it was the guy who tried to woo my human.
