what did she do to you?

— AUGUST SIXTH
11:15 A.M.

Iris groaned as she moved around her master bathroom, feeling a soreness in her legs that she couldn't shake, but she knew exactly where that came from—the events that took place last night in her backyard pool. It felt as if she went to the gym for an intense leg workout, but it was really just from Jasiah testing her flexibility in every way her legs could have gone without breaking them.

After her shower, she walked over to the counter being faced with the Plan B box that she needed to take. As she thought back, she didn't regret telling him to do what he did but she hoped this pill didn't fail her. Her plans were to be married, then have kids ... not to have a kid because she was a horny, turned out by a man she had only been seeing for a short amount of time. Although, she just knew if he did turn out to be her baby daddy she would have beautiful children.

"Alright" Iris said aloud, in annoyance with her own thoughts, interrupting the thought of having kids with him.

She quickly took the Plan B and discarded the box in her trash can before she got dressed and ready to meet Jasiah at his club. It wasn't really in her schedule for today since she had therapy this morning and she would usually use remainder of the day after her session to be alone but she bent her rule for him, just this once. It also wasn't ideal to be with him in his club, full of women who give her crazy looks and by those looks she had an idea of which girls he slept with, but at the same time she could never let another woman run her away.

As she got dressed, a phone call came through her phone and the screen display Ajani's caller ID. She knew he was the one with her associates today, and the only time he would call is if it was a problem because other than that, he had everything on lock and didn't need assistance.

"Hello?" Iris answered, putting the phone on speaker.

"Hey Domo, one of ya boys here act like they don't want to do what I say, all of a sudden. He the friend of the one you killed. What you want me to do about this?" He asked.

"Well ask him if he wants to be next and reunite with his friend. If not, tell him I said he's fired. I don't have time for that shit. Anybody else that gives you a hard time, they have the same two options. Somebody else can put up with them" Iris shrugged carelessly.

"Okay cool. I just needed confirmation. You enjoy the rest of your day love" Ajani said before he hung up the phone, taking further matters into his own hands.

As she got dressed, her heart began to slightly thump. Her mind skimming over today's therapy session. At first, she didn't think therapy was necessary so she didn't bother getting the help, hence why she was in therapy now even though what happened, happened years ago. She had always been a fortress of her own emotions—a keeper of secrets, a bearer of burdens. For a long time she thought that vulnerability was a chink in her armor so when suggested therapy, she would scoff and dismiss it as a luxury for only the fragile.
