NOVEMBER THIRTIETH
11:30 A.M. ೄྀ࿐ ˊˎ-"Ouuu shit!" Jasiah grinned widely, holding up Iris's phone to capture a video of her and her friend that she wanted to post on her Instagram. The golden sunlight bathed her skin, making her look even more radiant. "Aye y'all! This my lil shit" He declared proudly, his voice filled with joy and possessiveness. Their friends chatted animatedly in the background, their laughs and conversations blending into the atmosphere of Jasiah's backyard. He couldn't help but feel a surge of pride, happy to show off Iris to everyone around.
The backyard was an oasis where his friends hung out at if they weren't hanging out at the warehouse. Tall palm trees and other luxurious greenery swayed gently in breezes, casting dappled shadows on the manicured lawn. A sparkling pool glistened under the sun, although the temperature was too low to get in. Comfortable lounge chairs and outdoor sofas were arranged around the area, creating a perfect spot for relaxation for when his people visited.
Jasiah had also invited Iris to bring her friends, the ones he met at Playhouse the other night, including Alexis. The mutuality was surprisingly calm, a stark contrast to the chaos that caused them to always give each other ugly looks and disrespectful murmurs prior to this. There was a sense of peace, an unspoken understanding that this was a place to unwind, free from the usual tensions.
Standing back to her feet, Iris smiled, walking towards the phone, eager to see the results of the video. Jasiah recorded her videos occasionally, so she knew he wouldn't disappoint. "Let me see! Let me see!" She giggled. After viewing the video, she bounced up and down in joy. "Yes, baby! Thank you!" She exclaimed, turning her head to kiss his cheek.
"Glad you like it, 'cause that's the last one I'm taking" He said with a sarcastic smile. Despite the serious tone, there was a playful look in his eyes, making it clear he was only joking. He extended his hand, holding her phone out for her to grab. "Hea'." He added.
"Don't be rude!" Iris smacked his chest with the back of her hand before taking the phone from his grip.
They made their way back to their friends, who were lounging around the fire pit ring on plush couches that enveloped them in comfort. Although the bright morning sun casted over the scene, Jasiah had a small fire going. It wasn't for warmth but for convenience, as lighting blunts became a hassle without his lighters that he couldn't seem to find, and walking back and forth to the stove was too much effort.
