⌖ AH SHIT, HERE WE GO AGAIN | O58. ‹ ⚜ › ❝ niggas scared you, could've killed you. they gotta die behind that shit. ❞
— FEBRUARY THIRTEENTH 1O:OO P.M. ᐟ
"& let a nigga not have on brown, I'm putting shoe to ass." Jasiah said in all seriousness, making it clear nobody was half stepping on Iris's night.
Even though it wasn't officially her birthday yet, it would be in just a couple more hours, & she wanted to celebrate every second of it, starting the moment the clock struck 12. She wasn't waiting for the daytime, or some big announcement. Midnight was the real beginning. Every minute after was a blessing she wanted to feel, especially since missing her last one to such a traumatic event.
Jasiah turned his head, looking back at the setup, rich shades of brown, whites & golds glowing in the light. To anyone else, it might've just been colors. But to Iris, it was bigger than that.
She chose brown because brown represented their roots, not only what they grew from, but what they were planting now. It was life. It was this family they were creating. It was every hard night that led them here. A new beginning. They were celebrating parenthood, love, & the life they were building together.
"Everybody in brown is gonna look so... luxurious." Jodie smiled as her eyes scanned over the setup they just finished.
Jasiah stood a few feet back, rocking Asiah gently in his arms. The baby was steady babbling in his ear, small fists clutching the fabric of Jasiah's turtleneck.
Asiah wore something similar to Jasiah, a brown Amiri sweater, some khaki pants, & some amiri loafers along with the smallest diamond stud earrings, & a thin gold chain & a gold bracelet to compliment the browns.
Jasiah turned his head, catching those curious eyes staring right at him. "You venting or sum'? You been talking my ear off for 'bout five minutes straight... rough day, gang?" He asked.
Asiah immediately went quiet once Jasiah started talking as he watched his mouth move, completely locked in to the words he couldn't really understand yet. Jasiah smiled without even thinking, & just like that, Asiah broke into a bright, gummy grin, like he was mirroring his father without even knowing it.
