Poem 7: Who are You

181 12 2

In two minds, I dwell,
The self I am, the self I pursue,
Frustration reigns, believe me, it's true.

Hard to discern amidst the fray,
Influence bends, corrupts the way,
Shifting behavior day by day.

Others' words reshape my view,
Questions arise, doubts ensue,
Bound by their rules, I construe.

Straying from my own true course,
Echoing voices drown my voice,
Lost in their noise, I have no choice.

Yet in discovery, I find my way,
Originality breaks the sway,
Anomaly in the light of day.

Forge my path, break free,
Embrace the self that's meant to be,
In knowledge, find true liberty.
