Poem 44: Screen Locked

26 6 5

My eyes are locked to the screen,
As most eyes are locked to the screen.
Encapsulated in my own bubble,
Interacting with others is a struggle.

Scroll to the end and find nothing,
Today's story forgotten by tomorrow.
Clickbait fishes and catches,
Capturing minds in several batches.

A global platform to expose,
A major secret to unfold.
Fake lives are there for show,
Updates every five minutes so you know.

Simulate life as a video game character,
Controlled by what is presented to you.
A trend imitated by its followers,
The birth of an identity borrower.

Social norms are not for all,
That's why some succeed and others fall.
One man's opinion is one man's opinion,
Remember that, and you will make millions.
