"Aren't you a fluffy bastard?" I scrunched Chewbacca's face as he stared at me. He looked cute, especially with his smiling snout. Zeus, who I brought with me played with Enchong's dog after all the sniffing-the-butt business.
I am currently at my brother's house to annoy him. Both of us have keys to each other's house just in case — in his words — one of us turns up dead. I knew where he was if he was not in his study. He is in his man cave in his basement that he converted into a man cave complete with top-of-the-line gaming consoles, PCs, and life-size action figures. While I enjoy the outdoors, my twin enjoys the comfort of his home and spends the majority of his free time playing games.
Like now, I see him playing one of the latest releases of Japeth's gaming company. I sat on a bean bag beside him. My eyes surveyed him because he was still wearing a dress shirt and slacks in his house on a weekend while playing his video games. Is he going to have a conference with his characters or what?
"What are you doing here?" His eyes remained on the big-ass television where he was playing.
"Just checking if you are still breathing and if you have fed Chewie." A nickname I coined for the white fluff resting at my feet at the moment. I scratched its ears and he leaned to my touch. Zeus meanwhile decides to lie down beside Enchong and looks like he's about to snooze. I really think we got the wrong dogs.
"I don't believe your bullshit." Oh he can definitely smell it out of me.
"Of course you don't." I sipped on the bourbon that I fetched before coming here. "I got a Valentine's date."
"Do you want me to act surprised? Isn't that a given?" There's a smug smile on his face as he presses different keys on his controller.
"Are you going alone?"
He shrugged. "I only go there to avoid cleaning the stables."
I chuckled because when Enchong tested Carrie by not going to the Valentine's Ball, a mandatory event for the members, he cleaned the stables for two weeks. I made sure to document that of course and send it to our mom.
"Don't you have plans to ask anybody out?"
"Nah. I don't even dance with anybody. Plus, I have two left feet. I don't want my partner's feet mangled after the ball. I can't kiss it once I take her to bed."
Enchong and I may have different personalities but when it comes to relationships, we maintain the same kind. Casual. No strings attached. I know Enchong has a few bedroom rules with his partners but I leave that to him.
"So, what's different with this date of yours?"
I stretched my legs as I continued to sip my drink. "I thought it was not news?"
"You've never been excited about a Valentine's date. The Valentine's ball, yes. But a date, not really. So who is the unlucky woman?"
I threw him a glare. "First, how can she be unlucky? Doesn't she know women line up to date me? She's lucky I fought for her to be her date. She is going with the Enteng Llamanzares."
I glanced at my twin when he placed the controller down. "You fucking fought for her? Now this is news. Is she married? In a relationship?"
"I love women, Enchong but I won't snatch someone who is already committed. Come on. But to answer your question, yes I fought for her because I wasn't the only one who wanted her as a date. And like you, she avoided the ball like a plague."
Enchong nodded slowly his fingers massaging his chin. "Interesting...A woman who avoids one of the most exciting events in the club and who doesn't voluntarily want you as a date. Are you sure this is a woman?"
