I have a 9:30 class this morning. See you at lunch instead?

I just asked Hera to a breakfast date but then, she had to be early at school today. I haven't been to any school in ages especially here in the Philippines. I wonder what schools here look like. Since today is my free day, thanks to Hilda, I plan to surprise her at her school.

Thank God there is only one parking lot in the school which means I can see when she comes in or not. The grounds are littered with students, some running, some walking like they don't have a care in the world. Students are throwing me weird looks like I am wearing a clown costume or something. A group of lady students passed by me and giggled. Past me would have smiled at them but since my smile is only reserved for Hera now, I just averted my gaze and waited for my Hot-torney to arrive.

Her familiar car drove in and she parked a few meters from me. Instead of a bouquet, I bought coffee for her. I figured it would not be easy to carry a bouquet around school. I walked towards her and stopped a few feet away enough for her to hear me.

"Can I sit in, Attorney Marquez?"

"Oh my God!" She turned and made sure it was me she heard. "Enteng? What are you doing here?"

I handed her the cold brew from her favourite cafe. "Just popping in. Trying to see how your class is."

She smiled and locked her car. "How can I concentrate if you're sitting there?"

I smirked. "I would understand why I am a distraction." I scratched my chin as I watched her blush.

Umiling-iling ito at nagsimula ng maglakad. "Can't wait for lunch, can you?"

"My day is free. I'll spend every minute with you if I can."

The company has kept me busy for the past few days. The core operation team is already in place and all I have to do now is form the investment team. I have people in mind already who are excited to join me in my company. We are expected to be in full operation by the end of the year to early next year. Damon has been helping me a lot on legal matters and I have talked to Enchong to get some advice from him on operations.

The smile that formed on her lips validated my decision to see her this morning. Base sa kinang ng mata nito at tamis ng ngiti, mukha namang natuwa ito na narito ako.

"I need to drop some stuff in the faculty room before heading to my classroom."

"Yes, Ma'am."

She elbowed me. "Behave, will you?"

"What? I'm not doing anything," I said feigning ignorance.

"What's running in your mind?"

My mischievous smile was a giveaway. "You wouldn't want to know. Saka na kapag sinagot mo na ako."

The school wasn't completely new but it looked like an institution that many students trust to have a good quality education. I have read that it is an equivalent of the Ivy League schools in the States. Hera also shared with me that she is an alumnus of the school so it must really be a good one.

The faculty room is not big and has approximately fifteen desks and an isolated room I assumed would be for the dean. I am not totally out of place. Some of the professors are dressed like me.

"I keep getting weird glances." Bulong ko kay Hera habang nililibot ko ang tingin ko.

"You walk like you own the school."
