E N T E N G
While Hera busied herself mingling around, looking for new clients, I leaned on the wall and thought hard about my conversation with Enchong. I don't know what he was seeing. He was just probably fucking with me. Another conversation floated in my mind.
I want to see how serious you are to get the position. How serious you are as a person. If you can't even handle your life, how much more if I let you manage our company?
I balled my fists. Sometimes it's so hard to keep trying if the person you wanted to impress already thinks you're a failure before you have even started proving yourself.
"You look like you are about to punch somebody."
I glanced up and saw Hera standing a few feet away. I gulped down my remaining bourbon before glancing back at her. Ngayong tinitignan ko siya, it dawned on me that she might just be the perfect woman I am looking for. My father will surely approve of her. She's an accomplished woman in her field. She-
"Are you drunk?"
I blinked and stared at her. "No. Sorry I spaced out."
"They are starting the last dance. We have a hoax to debunk, remember?"
I instantly flashed her my smile. "Oh right. Come then."
I placed both of her hands this time at the back of my neck and pulled her closer this time. Her eyes slightly widened at the contact. Her body was warm against mine. Her scent infiltrated my senses straight to my twitching dick. She doesn't know the will I have to stop myself from bending and licking her sexy collarbone. Her neck and collarbone may be the sexiest part of her for me.
I shook my explicit thoughts before she noticed. "How was your evening so far?"
"I don't see why people look forward to this." It was a slow dance this time and the lights had been dimmed. Our bodies moved closer after more couples joined in to dance.
I looked at her and focused my eyes on her slightly parted lips. She was saying something but my mind wasn't there at all. I wonder if her lips taste like strawberry too? This stone-hard woman smells like the sweetest fruit I know. Everything about her is contrasting. I don't know what to make of it.
"Whatever you're thinking looking at me like that, don't even try. I can already see how a lawsuit will play out."
I chuckled as I tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear. "Stop being a lawyer for once. Have you ever broken a law?"
"I'm a lawyer. What do you think? It's like asking a cleaner if they have tried littering."
"Touche."
The light danced on her face and she finally gave me the liberty to look at her longer as close as I could as she looked around. As much as I wanted to dance with her longer, I had to let her go when the song ended. When did time pass by so quickly? Why is a song not an hour long?
As I walked her to the hotel lobby, I am thinking of ways to make this last longer. I know there's a high chance of her saying 'no' but I have to shoot my shot.
"Hot-torney." She turned slightly and gave me a questioning look. I feel proud of myself that she's now answering to the endearment I gave her. "I am hungry."
She gave me a more strange look. "So? Go eat."
"Join me." I slipped my hands in my pockets because I might touch her and ask her to stay longer if she refused. "Don't you want greasy burgers, fries and ice-cold soda? I got hungry from all the dancing."
