H E R A
We were at the Greenhouse to have lunch. Enchong invited us to a late lunch after the fitting. Now that they wore different clothes and I paid more attention to their interaction, I can clearly see their differences. It's as clear as day. I don't know what people find difficult to distinguish. Enchong has shorter, slicked-back hair while Enteng's is slightly longer and dishevelled. In the moments that Enchong smirks, a dimple shows on his cheek while Enteng doesn't have a dimple even if he's smiling more. Even their scents are different. Enteng smells like sandalwood while Enchong hints at a spicy scent. I don't want to think how Enteng affects me with his mere presence while Enchong doesn't. That's how I distinguish one twin from the other.
"Do you want anything, Attorney Marquez?" Tanong ni Enchong sa akin.
"I'll just have the pasta with salmon. What are you getting?" I said out of habit. Whenever Damon and I go out for lunch we always ask each other what we'll be having.
"I'm having steak. You should try it. It's good, especially with their sweet potato mash." Sagot naman nito sa akin.
"Okay, let me try some of yours later."
Napaangat ang tingin ko nang may tumikhim. Enteng was almost glaring at us. "Aren't you going to ask me what I'm having?"
My eyebrows furrowed as I looked at him. "What are you going to have?"
His lips thinned before answering. "I'm having their special pinikpikan. It's a local dish. You should try it."
I nodded and sipped some water. "Okay. I'll have some."
Enteng is really in a bad mood today. I didn't think he was capable of frowning at all. His lips have been unsmiling ever since we got here. Even his replies earlier are curt and almost humourless.
"So how is life being a lawyer?" Tanong ni Enchong sa akin.
"Busy. I usually take in VIPs in our firm to generate more bucks for me. In return, I get to take in more pro bono cases."
"Hmm...interesting. When I heard about your name, I thought you were a hotshot lawyer. The Annulment Queen as they say."
I shrugged. "Damon tells me that. He's just exaggerating."
"You have a lot of high-profile cases. That's impressive for a lawyer with your tenure."
I massaged my temple. "I do get that a lot too but then again, it's the proof of my hard work that I win those cases therefore, clients come to me."
"Impressive." Enchong nodded as he sipped his wine. Enteng on the other hand is brooding with his glass of bourbon.
"How about you? Are really expanding in Asia?"
"There are a lot of promising markets here and of course, we have China, Japan, and Singapore close by. We just favoured the Philippines to establish our headquarters in because our mom loves it here and our father has Filipino blood. Besides, the Philippines has a lot of potential. As long as we treat our employees right, we will have the best team out there. After all, people are a company's greatest asset."
I nodded. "That's good. But your father is still the head of the company, right?"
"Yes. He might retire soon but we'll see. A lot of movement here and there. Enteng and I are being prepared to take over anytime."
I noticed how Enteng tensed beside his twin. Fortunately, our food had arrived and I felt my tummy rumble when I smelled the food before us. Parang napakasarap tignan ng mga iyon. I started eating my food when Enchong and Enteng both placed a plate in front of me both with portions of their food.
