"Yes, I have a decent date tonight, bud." Tinignan ko si Zeus na naka-prente ng nakahiga sa kwarto nito sa bahay ko. Napakain ko na ito kaya naman wala na itong problema. Alas-siyete na ng gabi kaya may isang oras pa ako bago kitain si Hera.
"I am not expecting to be that lucky tonight. Let me tell you, this girl is far different from the other women I dated. It's a good different..." I sighed. I wonder how I was able to score a date with a woman like her. I mean she didn't have a choice but I expected her to fight more. She's so out of reach. She's like a precious gem that everybody wants but is so hard to get. Damon may have told me how many suitors Hera attracts and so far, no one was lucky enough to score even a date with her — Damon, the king of chivalry, included.
"You haven't found me a lady to date, Zeus. What a shame. I won't let this one go." Napatigil ako habang inaayos ko ang necktie ko sa salamin. What the hell does that mean? This is a one-time thing. She's not the woman I am planning to introduce to my father...right?
Would I deny it to myself that those moments I had with her were nothing but bliss? That for the longest time, I have enjoyed a woman's company without wanting to make an excuse to get out of it at the first opportunity. I actually wanted more time with her...
I looked in the mirror. This is not me. I am not settling with just one woman because I easily get tired of them. I want variation. I want the challenge each woman brings to me. Yes, Hera is just a one-time thing. A challenge threatening to tarnish my reputation.
When I got to the Wallflower, I asked the receptionist to let Hera know that I was there now. I got admiring glances from the receptionist herself and the other women even if they were already with their dates. My suit was black but there were reds, blues, and yellows placed aesthetically around the suit. The transition of the colours reminded me of flames. I didn't know what Hera would be wearing. It will be my first time seeing her.
When the elevator dinged, I looked up twice to make sure it was Hera I was seeing. She was wearing a long-sleeved off-shoulder gown. The top was made of a deep-red coloured corset that enhanced her curves and showed an ample amount of her breasts. The gown was floor-length and the transition of the deep-red colour to blue to yellow was similar to mine and the embroidery resembled a feather. Her hair donned a wet look and her long hair cascaded behind her but I didn't miss the sensual curve of her neck that was on full show because her gown was off-shoulder. She must be wearing heels because when she got closer to me, she didn't have to look up so high at me.
She cleared her throat as if to pull me from the universe I vanished in. "We are-" she made the quote-unquote gesture "-matchy-matchy". Her face remained serious after saying that and I can't help but chuckle. Ah...what I would pay for to know what would make her laugh or at least smile.
"You look beautiful," I said after and gave her another glance from her head to her toe.
She looked away. I don't know if it's her blush or did my comment gave her the heated cheeks. I offered her my elbow. "I know you can walk on your own but just do this for the overall experience."
She sighed before holding onto the crook of my elbow. How can a woman this cold and hard have the softest touch? How can she feel so warm despite that ice-cold persona?
When we got to the red carpet, I saw how Chael gaped at my date. I should have captured that on camera. His wife, Amara, closed his mouth with her finger. "The word you're looking for is wow." Bumaling ito kay Hera. "Attorney! Alam ko ng maganda ka noon pero ngayon-" Her face grimaced when she saw me. "Bakit ikaw ang date niya?"
