The Need To Shut Up

After 17 hours of train travelling we reached Bangalore. I just don't realize how the time flew by since we were having rapid fire rounds and all such games to play. A few aunties did complain about us to the conductor but being the hooligans that we are, we didn't pay any attention and had the desired fun that we had planned to have. After all, we are on a girls trip to enjoy ourselves, and for that, we don't mind receiving death glares from complete strangers. It's just the matter of 17 hours. After that, there's no chance that we will meet the same people anywhere.

We walked out of the train and checked on our luggage. Everything was in it's place. Vicky seems to be busy on her phone with someone. "What do we do now," I ask Alisha.

"I really don't know. I suppose we should wait for Vicky's cue," she said.

"Sure," I said when Vicky turned around to face us. "I just had a talk with my assistant. She said that she just got off at the station and she'll be here any second."

"Okay," we all say as we wait. in another minute or so a short girl with a tight body wearing blue denims and a grey top approaches us accompanied by a guy, who is really good looking, wearing a black jeans and white shirt.

"Hello ma'am, it's great to have you back," she says. Vicky smiles at her.

"Hello," the guy says. So that girl is her assistant and the guy.... who the hell is the guy?

"Guys, meet Shaina and Tarun. Shaina is my assistant and Tarun is in my creative team," Vicky introduces. I have heard this name somewhere. "And these are my friends Alisha, Myra and Zara."

We exchange a pair of 'hie's as they lead us to the car.

"I liked your story," Vicky tells Tarun. "It was really something but I have a few questions to you."

"Questions? You mean, you wanna change something in my story? Because, since you approved, more than half the copies have been already printed," he says nervously.

"No, I don't want to change anything. I just wanted to know few things from the story,"Vicky told him.

"Oh, you just gave me a heart attack," he said calming down while she smiled as she shook her head.

"What is going on here," Zara whispers in my ear.

"Same question," I said while looking at Alisha. She definitely knows something.

"What? Something might be happening," she says.

To that I remember Alisha teasing Vicky by his name on our car ride to Goa! Remembering this piece of information I got hyper excited and said, "Is this the 'Tarun' who Vicky likes?" Oh my gosh! This was a little loud since I gain attention of almost the whole group. Shaina looks at me with a smile but shakes her head and looks ahead and starts to walk as if she heard nothing and even if she did, she has nothing to say about it. Zara's jaw had dropped and Alisha gave me a glare. I look at Tarun whose cheeks seemed to have heated up and then I look at Vicky whose face had the look: let-me-finish-this-then-I'll-kill-you.

"I didn't mean that," I said rephrasing my words which was actually none of use since my previous statement was pretty loud and clear. Everyone looked ahead and started to walk as I can see an awkward exchange of looks between Tarun and Vicky. Did I just creep the hell out of that guy out? Or did he just think that Vicky is creepy? Both ways, it is very bad. I shouldn't have said that. I am such a moron.

We reached the car and the driver loaded our stuff in it. It was a twenty minute drive to Vicky's penthouse. This girl is a lucky brat. She lives in a fucking penthouse. Which is so classy. It is in the shades of grey which vary from the lightest shade to the medium one with patches of white here and there. Her assistant and the guy had accompanied us to her house, helping us with the luggage. She took us upstairs to show us our bedrooms. Finally a king size bed for myself! We left our bags in our rooms and headed out. Vicky was busy talking with the guy and the girl. She then went to the kitchen to fetch them some water where I followed her.

"Hey," I said.

"Hie," she replied.

"Wassup?"

"Ceiling," she said.

"Seriously? Come on! My tongue just slipped!"

"Your tongue just slipped? It was so freaking embarrassing! He was right there! And he heard this. He must be thinking that i am creepy or something," she said. Well our thoughts are alike but I cant let her think that way.

"No, okay? He wont think that your creepy. I mean, look at you. You are cute and beautiful and bubbly and a guy would be fucking insane to creep out by you," I told. Hopefully it was convincing. She still gave me a glare and poured water in the glasses. She took the water outside for all of us. By that time everyone was settled in the living area. Tarun looked at me and our eyes just met. He gave me a small smile and so did I and looked away as fast as possible and avoided further contact. Why does this happen with me!

"I think I need to sleep," Zara said. She must be really tired. She was up all night. Well I slept in the last 5 hours since my eyes couldn't stay open.

"So do I," Alisha says. Of course she does. She was accompanying Zara. They were busy doing something on the phone is all I remember.

"I wish I could say the same but unfortunately I cant. I'll have to head to office because I still have a speech to write and see if everything is properly done. Tomorrow is my special day!" Vicky said excitedly. Tomorrow is the launch of her first issue of 'the maze' magazine. It is obviously a big day. I think this is another reason why I like this trip. I don't think I would have been able to attend the launch hadn't we been on this trip.

"Can I accompany you," I said when Vicky, Zara and Alisha, all said a 'No' in unison. That scared me.

"Okay, fine. I wont go. Chill," I said as I rested my back on the couch as I watched Tarun laugh at me.

Vicky rolled her eyes and went upstairs as she said, "I'll be back in ten minutes," and then bent down to reach my ear, "Try to keep this mouth shut until then."
