Through a rocky patch from the peak of gentle slope we were brought on the peak of steep slope. People were skiing and they were really good on this slope. I just stared at them in awe. Though I've got the hang of it, I swear I don't want to fall on my face in my first attempt. But you can't really wish for something like this. And on a steep slope like this, I'm definitely going to fall. I hope it's not on my face.
#Vicky
The coaches told us few guidelines and also told us how miserable our first attempt can be. He also told us to keep calm and that when we reach down we need to fall on our sides in order to save ourselves from injuries by falling on our face after losing control. Since we were in line Alisha went first. And dang! Half way through on her side! That fall was hysteric and we couldn't stop but laugh. She then got on her skis again and went for her other half and then again crashed unexpectedly on the ice. But she simply dusted herself and laughed it off. Removed her skis and pushed the skis in the ice vertically making them stand. This means its Myra's turn. Unfortunately she met the same fate. Then it was Zara's turn. And oh my, was she smooth! She didn't crash, she didn't fall mid way through. She went steadily, her leg further apart helping her to be slow. And she did it! Perfection in the first go! Oh.. Ooo.. On her face on at the end. Lol! Well fate is a bitch.
So it's my turn now.. I'm scared.  I Have to fall, I know. It's so obvious. Ugh but what if I break a bone. Ugh! Ice doesn't do that sorta damage, it's going to be okay. I took a deep breath and bent. The coach pushed my ski further away. "Now maintain this space between your legs," he said. I nodded and then put force on my limbs and the ski went ahead.
#Alisha.
I think she couldn't handle her skis. Or I guess her her legs were splitting further apart hence she pulled her leg close and she gained speed. That's bad. I did the same mistake hence she met the same fate as mine. Right on her face mid way through. When she looked up its as if one of the Bollywood movie scenes where the actress says 'mein Kaun hu? Kaha se ayi hu? Tum sab Kaun Ho?' (Who am I? Where have I come from? Who the hell are you?) that expression was epic! And we just laughed. A guy on his skis stopped right in front of her with a swift turn. He took his glares and cap off. "Are you okay?" Is what I'm guessing he said. She is just staring at him. He got off his skis and then knelt down, a few strands of his hair falling in his forehead.
"Are you okay?"
By then we were five to six steps away from them. Big five to six steps in snow. "Vicky!" Zara yelled.
"Yeah, yeah," she said as she was snapped back to reality. "I'm okay. I'm okay."
"You sure?" The guy asked again. She nodded.
"Let me help you with those," he said pointing at her skis. He made her leg straight while we helped her on her feet as he undid her skis.
"Thanks," she said.
"Your welcome. Happy skiing," he said with a wink and got on his skis and went away.
"Okay... Was this a real guy or just someone fictional character from my head?"
"Hot," I said.
"More like 'hawt'," Zara said.
"I could drool over him all day long." I said.
"Did you get his name," Myra asked.
"Vicky this guy is the best. Go for him," Zara said.
"Oh come on," Vicky yelled while we all were still looking at the guy with dark hair slide through the ice.
"But admit it you were daydreaming once you saw him take his cap off," I punched her hand.
"Yes! Yes. I never thought I'd ever use this word for a guy but he looked exceptionally gorgeous."
#Myra
"Is everyone okay here," the coach came on his skis.
We were snapped back from our checking out session.
"Yeah," we all said.
"So let's dismiss for lunch and then we will meet on this slope for our second session. See you then."
