Vicky
I came back downstairs as fast as I could.
"You sure you're going to your workplace," Zara asked me.
"Of course," I said looking down at my pair of faded blue shorts and white top completed with a pair of converse and a cardigan.
"You don't wear formals?"
"Formals is a bore. No one wears formals at my office. We all wear casuals. It keeps our environment pleasant and creative. Plus, I hate formals so I made sure that the dress code would be casuals," I told her.
"This is another reason that I would want to work under you," she said.
"The first being?"
"That you are the boss," she smiled. "Who wouldn't like to work under someone so pretty and smart and patient and understanding as you." I gave her a fake smile as I head to the kitchen to get a water bottle. That's one thing I carry around and when I don't mineral water is most welcome.
"So I'll see you in the evening?" I said grabbing the car keys.
"Try to come early," Alisha said.
"Why?"
"Just try," she said again.
"Okay," I gave her a skeptical look and asked Tarun and Shaina to follow. The car drive was short and I'm glad that my office is close to my house since less travelling means more sleeping. And the only thing that matters most to me is completing my sleep. We walk up to the 8 floors tall building, Which is a business park, in which the middle 3 floors are my office. Once my magazine and publishing center reaches its peaks, I'm going to make sure I buy the rest of the floors, I have big plans in my head and one day I'm going to complete them. I go to the third floor where my cabin is. I receive smiles and hie's and 'welcome back' from my team of editors.
I love my writers but I also love my editors. And I make sure that my editors are closer to me. They are a main part of my core team. I have different editors for different genres. I make sure every work and every piece is properly written, and is convincing enough. and that the writers I hired are not feeding crap to my readers. I make sure the stories are reasonable, and if they are not, they get to see the trash bin. I might be very lenient when it comes to being a boss but then I have to be strict when it comes to my magazine. Because 'The Maze' is my big dream. And I would like to keep a great reputation and maintain it all along.
So my editors reside on the same floor as mine. Their benches are scattered and papers are seen all over their places. They are always a mess but I don't mind unless they give me all the necessary papers without making a mistake. In fact, by my personal experience I have discovered that searching something in a pile of mess is easier than searching something which is perfectly kept. I get into my office and find that the both of them have followed me up to here.
"You guys can leave," I said taking a seat in my chair while giving them a slight nod.
"Sure, it's just that we missed you sitting in that chair a lot," Shaina said. I looked at my table and I see a sample magazine on top of it with a pile of papers to be signed and a documents of employers to be hired. I then notice a steaming cup of coffee which brings a smile on my face.
I look at Shaina who is almost leaving the room. "Hey," I said stopping her, "You have done a great job managing everything over here in my absence. I'm glad to know that I have a person here on whom I can rely on."
"Of course you can rely on me," she said as she left to do her job.
"So," I asked Tarun since he was standing in front of me.
