Pumped up with energy drinks I went outside and jumped in my place. I dunno about the others but I just came out when the alarm went off. The sun is about to rise so I don't really think they are up though I see some unknown faces taking a few laps. I start stretching to loosen up my muscles.
"Morning," I hear Vicky jogging in a place behind me.
"Jeez you're up early," I tell her standing straight.
"I was here first. Couldn't sleep properly. Thought some workout would do me good," she says holding her head phones in her hands.
"What are you listening to?"
"Nirvana, duh!"
"I still don't understand how you went from Snow Patrol, Kodaline and Ingrid Michaelson to Nirvana, Iron Maiden and the other rock stuff."
"Those are the only ones I like in Pop but lemme tell you, Rock  was made by Gods and pop was made by devil, except for the ones I like. Plus this makes me wanna run, it's pretty motivating," she tells me. "And you should take a run around the whole resort. The place is amazing and so is the climate. You'll love it. I hope you have your workout playlist updated."
"Of course," I nod.
"So I'll meet you on the track once you're done here?"
"Sure," I say as she runs away.
There is something different about this girl. She did listen to Nirvana and Iron Maiden before but not when she was running or something. Her workout song was Pop Danthology, always. Plus she is actually running. She hates exercising let alone running.
I push past the thoughts in the back of my head. Whatever the change she has brought about is for the better. That's what I will be assuming.
I start taking a jog around the resort and that's when I hear another voice calling me. "Oi!" This time it's none of the girls.
I wait and turn around. "What are you doing here?" I ask Kanish who was jogging his way towards me.
"Jogging.. I'm not a person who likes to jog alone," he says.
"So you decided to run tomorrow?"
"Of course not. I thought some exercise would be good, he says, pinching the upper part of his shirt to pull it closer to his face so that he could wipe away the fresh drops of sweat.
"Oh.. What about the others," I asked him.
" I saw Alisha in the buffet room stuffing some food in her mouth. And Karan was stuffing something in his along with her. I also don't think that Myra will be coming here anytime soon since she had a romantic date with Vivan last night."
"A freaking romantic date?"
"Yes," he said. " shall we jog and talk? We're wasting time." I nodded and we started to jog along the walking track in the garden.
"So a romantic date... How do you know about it?"
"He came to the room at 3 am and he had this smug smile pasted on his face making me wish I could just punch his face so that I could take that off him. The guy is mad behind her," he says as I giggle.
"We all know that," I agreed. "They are star crossed lovers since 9th grade."
"And they still behave like a new couple? Gee. That's unreal. Where do you get to see that?"
"Nowhere," I tell him. "They are one of a kind."
We jog for another couple of minutes in comfortable silence my music loud enough for the both of us to hear it. Whenever I look at his side it's like he is already looking at me. And the moment we lock our eyes we just shift our gaze because that makes our comfortable atmosphere really really uncomfortable.
To get my mind of it I start thinking about Myra. She's gonna be in such a trouble. Boyfriends were not allowed and yet he was here so all she had to do was not to go on a date with him. Violating a girl squad trip rule might get u in lots of trouble. So currently I am debating whether to tell others or not to. It will be fun though, telling others. I'd like to know the punishment assigned to her. But then she's my soulmate and I can save her this one time. I think I will save her this time. It's okay for a sneaky romantic little date once in a while.
"What are you thinking," he asks me suddenly.
"Nothing..."
"I don't understand how can a person think of 'nothing'. I mean when he is thinking of nothing he is actually thinking of 'nothing'. That's also a thought right?"
I rolled my eyes at his lame logic. "Whatever." He smirked at his victory at annoying me. He is a nice guy and sometimes cute but he can be annoying. Extremely annoying.
"So you like pop?"
"I love pop," I tell him.
"Favourite band?"
"I like Coldplay but mostly I like any song which has cool beats and cool lyrics. What about you?"
"I'm a rock person. Iron maiden," he tells.
"Then you and Vicky shall get along very well."
"Why so?"
"Vicky likes Iron Maiden and Nirvana."
"She does?"
"Yep..."
"Well it's impossible to hate Nirvana once you get to know them."
"She knows them pretty well. She once was telling me the story of how this frontman of nirvana, what's his name?"
"KURT COBAIN," he literally shouted as if it was a sin to forget the name.
"Yes Kurt, how Kurt got the lyrics of his song Smells like teen spirit", I said.
"Yeah! I mean Kathleen wrote crap all over his walls and ended up writing Kurt smells like teen spirit and this guy be like, 'can I use it' and boom! A new song!"
"That's talent. I wish I could make million dollar songs using crap written everywhere," I say.
"We all have that talent. We just don't realise it since we don't see the speciality in whatever crap we read. You need to find the meaning behind the words and give it the right tune and you're good to go. It's just magic of the words. Rock is heavenly music, very meaningful and not just screaming," he enlightened me.
