"Why the hell you never told us?" Was the only thing I could ask her once I had entered our cabin. "You could've trusted us. We wouldn't have told anyone!"
"I kind of knew it.." Alisha said biting her lower lip.
"She knew it and we didn't," Myra exclaimed.
"I told her in eighth grade! I didn't know you guys at all in eighth grade," came her defence.
"You knew us in ninth," I said sheepishly.
"I had just started to know you both in ninth. I guess I did a smart choice choosing Myra as my partner in the first art project. Otherwise I would have never been friends with you both."
"Point is not that. Point is why do we not know about this? It's been years for our friendship too!"
"When ninth had started my dad's affair was going nowhere. In fact it was slowly coming to a halt. But slowly. And in the beginning of the year I didn't knew you guys so well that I could frankly talk to you both about my family matters. When in eighth I couldn't take it anymore and I wanted to let it out, I just stole Alisha from her class and told her everything. It felt good. And then, when we all did become great friends this matter had subsided completely. There was no point in sharing all of this because it didn't exist then. And I never really felt comfortable talking about it.. God knows how I did it now. I just wanted to say it. Loud and clear because I don't really get many chances to put my feelings and my believes and emotions out there. They are always locked somewhere no one can trespass."
I walked to her and hugged her from behind. "I'm sorry I got mad at you. It's just that you never told me.. I thought you didn't trust me," I said.
"I trust you, with everything."
"What if I told you to jump off the cliff," Myra said playfully.
"Now, do you wanna kill me?"
"Would you jump," she asked again with a smirk while I and Alisha giggled.
"I'm not gonna say an emotional line like, ' of course I will because you will catch me' or whatever. I'll jump off the cliff and take you along with me. You see best friends do all sort of crap together. Why not jumping off the cliff?"
"Bitch. No wonder you're my friend!"A while later, we all changed into track pants and sweat shirts. Though it's still around afternoon, you can feel the chill in the breeze. We packed a small bag each with napkins, torch and extra batteries and water bottles. Today we are going on the highest and the longest zip line in India. I'm nervous... And excited. I wanna do this so bad! I've never done it before and I always wanted to do this.
The ornithology group had already left for The Real Adventure Sports Resort at Dhanaulti Road. They already had a mini bus booked for them. We asked for a car/jeep whatever available at the receptionists desk and then headed out for the resort.
The drive was small. Plus the open jeep gave the feels. The decision of wearing sweats was a good one.
On reaching the resort we showed them our online booking receipt and headed in. A guide headed us deep inside the resort. Families and friend circles loitered the whole place. We should have stayed here for a day or two as well. There's so much to try over here.
We then stopped in front of a wooden tower on a rock figure. On top of which we spotted the boys and girls from Cloud Ends. We climbed up to where the 5 of them stood. One of them was harnessed to the pulley. By looking at his face it didn't look like he wanted to go.
"What's wrong,?" Alisha asked.
"He has been standing here for the past 15 minutes. The rest of the group is at the other end," said a guy beside him. It's weird that we have spent so much of time with them and yet we don't know their names.
"Its okay, the ropes not gonna break," Myra said.
"I wasn't even thinking about that, but thanks, now I do," he said even more pale.
Myra bit her tongue as I giggled. "It's not, okay, half of your group is on the other side. You just have to loosen up and put your step outside the tower. The pulley will do the rest of the job," I said.
"He won't do it," said the guy again
"I will, just gimme a moment, okay?"
The boy next to him rolled his eyes and all of a sudden pushed him slightly. It was more than enough to to make him fall on his chest and get on the zip line. "YOU SON OF A BITCH," he said as he descended down the zip line.
"WE SHARE THE SAME MOTHER," he shouted back. "That asshole."
"Share the same mother," Vicky asked confusingly.
"Yeah, he is my fraternal twin, we aren't alike. Not even a bit. And I hate to address him as my twin. Total embarrassment. But he is a good guy. Usually does my Homework so he has earned it," he said while adjusting the harness around him. "See ya on the other end!" And he left.
One after the other the three boys left and now it was our turn.
Alisha went first. "This is so cool," she said while tying the harness. "It's like flying they say."
"Of course," Vicky said.
Alisha left, after her Vicky, then Myra and now it's my turn. I remember Kanish telling me how he wanted to go on a zip line. Not that he had never been on one but how he wanted to go on one with me. He promised me that if ever we were to go on a date we would do bungee jumping and go on a zip line followed by a picnic or just a small walk somewhere. More than enough for me on a date. I'd never forget a date like that.
"Ready," the guide asked.
"Yep," I said and let my feet off the ground. I spread my arms on either side and let the wind hit me with all the force that it could. This is grand. This is too good. I wonder how it would be if he were here. Would we catch hands? Maybe we would. Maybe this is perfect. Maybe this is how things are supposed. Imperfectly perfect in their own way. I wish this zip line would never end. But the best part is, a few things are up for grabs unlimited times. Zip line, I'm coming to you for another ride.A/N it's not much, I know. But I couldn't write more.. My exams are up... I could spare time today since tomorrow is my English paper..! Yay! Anyway.. I'm not sure if I can update until 23rd but I'll definitely try. See ya then! Please vote/comment/follow..!
