Chapter 31:
-Max POV-

I pulled her closer to me, all she did was cry and I just let it happened, but I didn't want to leave her side until Cassie and Ryan got here.

A few minutes later Cassie and Ryan finally got here.

"Is everything ok?" Ryan asked.

I nodded my head.

"Here, let me take her." Cassie said.

I looked down at Lily and kissed her head.

She pulled back at look at me in the eyes.

"Thank you so much." She said.

She kissed my cheek and walked by Cassie, they walked in the opposite direction and sat down in the bench a few feet away from where Ryan and I stood.

"So what are we going to do?" Ryan asked.

"I was just going to go over there rip the picture off and that was about it."

"Should like a reasonable thing to do. Want me to come with?"

"Yeah, we should give the girls a little bit of time." I said looking back, I looked at Cassie and waved a little bit.

She gave me a faint smile.

"They'll be ok."

I started to walk toward the janitors closet to take down that picture, people were still there laughing.

I became furious. I walked fast as I could, I noticed Ryan struggling to keep up with me a little bit.

By the time I get to the picture I pulled it down and turned around facing the crowd of kids who stop laughing and backed up once they saw how fast I did that.

"Why are all of you guys laughing?" I said.

"Max?" Ryan said in a whisper next to me.

"It's ok I got this." I whispered back.

I took a deep breathe. "Why would you laugh at this picture? There's nothing funny about it. It's not like nobody here has a secret they are hiding and not willing to tell anybody it. So what if she had a headgear on? She's a beautiful girl and you guys shouldn't laugh at other people. What if this was you? Would you laugh? No you would feel just as bad as she would." I took a deep breathe once more.

I can't believe I just told a crowd of people all of this.

One kid, who I don't know, walked up to me and looked me straight in the eyes.

"Your right, we shouldn't have made fun of her, it wasn't the right thing to do, but it wasn't us so oh well." he started to laugh again.

All of the other kids gave him a look and all mumbled something as they left about that kid. And out of that group of kids there only Lucy and her girls stayed and started to walk up to Ryan and I.

She looked at me dead I the eyes and have me the death glare same with Ryan.

They walked away.

"Oh my god. I can't believe I did that." My heart was pounding.

"Max you just defended Lily." Ryan said patting my back. "You know that's how Cassie and I started to date, I defended her."

I forgot that's how they stated to date, he defended her by that picture that Lucy had put up with the conversion where Cassie was talking to "Ryan".

I gave a nervous laugh.

"Let's get back to the girls." Ryan said putting his hands in his pockets.

"Yeah that's a good idea." I said.

We started to walk back to the girls when I realized something.

Lucy could have had told Lily to come here for a reason just to humiliate her, but what could she had told her to come here? I questioned myself the whole way back to the girls.

"What's the matter?" Ryan asked.

"Oh. I was just thinking." I answered back.

"About?"

"About all of this. What if Lucy was the one who told Lily to come to that specific spot to humiliate her? Or was it someone else trying to do this?"

"You have a point but we won't know until we ask Lily. If she doesn't mind telling us." Ryan said looking straight ahead.

We turned the corner to see my sister and the girl I like sitting there. It broke my heart into a million pieces seeing Lily cry.

I put my hands in my pocket and took a deep breathe.
