Chapter 13:
-Ryan's POV-
"So.... Mom." I said breaking our silence in the car. "Why didn't you introduce yourself to Cassie and her family?"
She never answered me. She never answers my questions, ever.
We drove for about five minutes with silence, until I turned the radio on.
"Now here's 'Best Day of My Life' by American Authors." The radio guy said.
"This song does describe today, but not now."
I was looking out the window the whole ride home just thinking about Cassie. So I took my phone out to text her.
"Hey, I had a fun time today. And tell your mom I said thanks for the cookies again."
I looked down opened the bag of cookies to grab one.
"Mhmmm mint chocolate chip"
"Ding"
My phone went off from Cassie. I picked up my phone and read the message.
"I had fun too :) and she it's really no problem and that if you want you can always come on over whenever you want to."
I smiled. "Of course I'll come over again, hanging with you was the best."
"Aw that's sweet, but I gotta go now, talk to you later, I love you bye."
"Aw ok talk to you later Cassie, I love you too."
My mom needs to understand that she can't just ignore me when she wants to, she's done this ever since my dad had past away, but there will be time when she does talk to me.
"I'm sorry Ryan." My mom said out nowhere.
"Huh?" I said out of shock.
"I'm sorry for not introducing myself to Cassie and her family, but it's just you know the problem with my leg and how it hurts to walk. Next time I'll try to introduce myself to her. Ok?" She said.
"I understand mom. You work a lot and with you working, you don't get to rest your leg. But Since we are talking I need to ask you something." I said nervously because I don't know how she'll react to me asking to get a violin.
"Yeah? what's that?" She asked interested.
"I want to play the violin again." I said scared.
"The violin? Why do you want to play it again?" She asked.
"Well Cassie was playing her violin for me because she has a audition to see what chair and band she will be in and we were going to watch a movie and I picked up the violin and played her music. She said I did really good and that I should try out and with her help I'm sure I can do it, mom can we please buy a new violin so I can be in the orchestra." I said.
"Well if you really want to play the violin then yea, I will buy you a violin." she said looking at me and smiling.
"Really! Thanks mom. I love you." I said.
"I love you too Ryan. Now those cookies you got, what kind are they?" She said laughing.
We got out of the car and walked inside.
"Who made those cookies?" My mom said eating the chocolate chip cookie.
"Cassie's mom. She's a really good cool she makes homemade stuff like for dinner she made pizza." I said.
"Really? I'm sorry for never doing that. I'd try to before, but it ended so bad." She said laughing at that.
"What? What happened?"
"Let's just say I wanted to make a homemade come and pizza one day. The cake got a giant hole in it then it sunk down into the middle of the cake. The pizza become a giant glob of doe with cheese and pepperoni." She said grabbing the chair to sit down.
I smiled. "Oh mom, its ok. Maybe if you became friends with Jen, which is her mother, then maybe she'll teach you how to cook."
"Well next time you and Cassie hang out then I'll meet her parents and I'll try be her friend." She said getting up and hugging me. "I'm going to bed, good night."
"Good night mom, love you." I said hugging her back.
"I'm happy my mom and I are talking again. I'm glad that everything is going better now. Well time for me to go to bed now." I said walking upstairs to my bedroom.
"Today was a good day."
