Chapter 24:
-Ryan's POV-After playing an hour or so of every game we found in her attic.
"Check and mate." Cassie said moving her last piece.
"7 and 6 not bad." I said laughing.
"Well of course you would win in Monopoly." she said laughing.
Monopoly was the hardest, she got bankrupt by me in like 10 minutes.
"Well that's was quite fun." she said standing up.
"It was." I said also standing up.
I checked my phone 3 new messages from my mom.
"Shit." I said in a whisper.
"What's is it?" Cassie asked.
"My mom messaged me 3 times and I didn't know."
"What do they say?"
"Uhh 'How was the audition for Cassie?' 'Where are you?' and 'Are you at Cassie's?'"
"Message her back and say that you didn't know your phone went off." Cassie said.
"Yeah I should."
I went to her went to her messages and messaged her: 'Yeah, sorry about not answering you I was playing a game was Cassie. ~Ryan'.
I sent the message. When I looked up at Cassie she had a frightening look on her face.
"What?" I asked.
She didn't answer.
"Cassie are you ok?"
Still no response.
I walked out next to her and put my hand on her shoulder.
"The question is are you?" She said in a whisper.
"Huh?" I gave her a strange look.
She took her hand and lifted out my shirt.
Her hands where cold, but after a while of realizing what she was doing I put my head down.
"What happened?" She asked.
She must have noticed the bruises on my side when I took my sweater off and my shirt come a little bit up.
I looked up and I stared into her eyes, her eyes now looked worried.
My eyes felt like they were watering up.
"Well uh." I started.
-back home-
I went straight to my room without saying hi to my brothers. I never talked to my mom in the car ride home. I didn't mean to ignore Cassie's text I'm just upset about everything right now.
Cassie messaged me again saying 'I know your upset so I'll let you be. You don't have to reply to me.'
I put my phone down on my desk, took my jacket and shirt off and through it on bed.
I looked in the mirror and turned a little to my side.
3 bruises and a long cut.
I began to cry. I know it's weird but there was nothing else for me to do.
I wiped my eyes and walked down to the door that leads to the floor where my brothers sleep and locked it and put a chair underneath it so I know nobody can get in.
I then walked back up to the attic and closed that door and locked it.
"Thanks for ruining my life." I said as I looked back in the mirror.
