Chapter 13

THE SALVATORE SCHOOL-DAY
[Witches are sitting in a circle and holding hands.]
Dorian: All right, gather together. Chain spells are about the fluid movement of energy from witch to witch... Where's Penelope Park?
Lizzie: Um, lady cramps, Mr. Williams.
Dorian: Sorry I asked.
"Men" rolled her eyes Hayley.
"Yeah. You should have seen dad's face when i got my period and he had to buy tampons." Laughed Audrey. Everyone laughed with her.
"I wish i could have seen that." Laughed Caroline.
"Please tell me you have a photo!" Said Kol. Klaus glared at him.
"Unfortunetly, no." Said Audrey. Kol pouts. Davina chuckles fondly at her future husband.
Dorian: A disharmonious group makes for an uneven flow. [Lizzie and Josie laugh. Paper appears in room and falls in Dorian's hands.]
Dorian: Okay...
Josie: Uh-oh, who's in trouble with the headmaster?
Hope: Probably the people who started a rumble with the local high school.
Audrey: Or me? I'm surprised he hasn't called yet. He probably was exhausted... (amused) or scared.
"He was definetly scared and gave me time to cool off." Said amused Audrey.
Dorian: "Lizzie Saltzman, Josie Saltzman." And Mikaelson twins make four. Off you go. [Lizzie, Josie, Hope and Audrey are in library with Alaric.]
Lizzie: This makes no sense, Dad. Why are we being punished?
Alaric: : Because you started a brawl at a charity football game that risked exposing what we really do here.
"Alaric is right. I get why Lizzie did it and i would probably do the same, but it's important to keep low profile." Said Caroline.
Lizzie: Well, you weren't mad last night.
Alaric: I was mad last night. My undying love for my daughters just happened to trump my rage. I volunteered everyone in the game, so stop complaining. You're lucky that it's just community service and not actual jail time.
Lizzie: Can I at least offer a rebuttal in my defense, if it pleases the court?
"She spends too much time with Damon." Said Audrey.
"Well... he is her favourite uncle." Said Hope.
"I am?" Asked surprised and touched Damon.
"Yeah. I don't get why thro." Said Audrey. Damon ignored Audrey's jab and smiled.
Lizzie: First of all, I was provoked. My response was totally proportional considering the levels of abuse that I was forced to endure. [Hope and Audrey chuckle.]
"She is right." Defended Damon.
Lizzie: And secondly... if anyone should take the blame, it's Josie.
"What? Don't blame your sister!" Said Caroline.
Lizzie: What? I'm sorry. I totally cracked under cross, but if you had just let Kaleb catch the ball...
Alaric: You'd still be in trouble.
Hope: But nice job throwing your sister under the bus.
Hayley smiled at Hope.
Josie: Thank you, Hope.
Alaric: Speaking of, the bus leaves in ten minutes, and I expect all three of you (points at Lizzie, Josie and Hope) to be on it, working together today, harmoniously and without drama. End of debate.
"Not Audrey?" Asked Marcel.
Hope: I wasn't even at the game. Why am I being punished?
Alaric: You know what you did. All right, now, go, all of you. Audrey, you stay. [Saltzman twins leave. Hope and Audrey stay.]
Alaric: I should be sending you to jail for what you did--
Mikaelsons glare at him.
Audrey: (mutters) Yeah, because jail can hold back mythical tribrid. [Alaric doesn't hear her.]
Alaric: --Or expelling you.
Audrey: Oh please, expell me. But remember that you will have to explain to Caroline why the daughter of a guy she had thing for was expelled.
Klaus raised his eyebrow at Caroline. She blushed. Stefan looks jaelous.
Audrey: And i'm sure my aunts will be happy to hear how you talk about their dead brother in front of his daughters.
"Oh, I'm sure i would be." Said Freya with Mikaelson smirk, that promised nothing good. Klaus smiled at that.
Audrey: (To Hope) Hope, what do you think? Will uncle Kol only burn the school or the whole town because of dear rikkie hurting his precious nieces' feelings? [Alaric pales.]
Kol smirks.
[Audrey turns to him with maniacal smile that makes Alaric take a step back warrily.]
Hope: (warningly) Audrey...
Audrey: You can't excpel me, Alaric. Only because i let you think you are in power time to time, doesn't change who is really in charge here!
"You are so much like your father." Said Marcel.
"Thank you." Said Audrey.
Alaric: I'm a headmaster.
Audrey: Yes, human headmaster of the supernatural school, which was built by my father's money.
"He paid?" Asked shocked Damon.
"He invested, because he thought it would be good place for his daughters." Said Audrey.
Audrey: Let's get some facts clear here, Rikkie. Everyone here either respects me or fears me or both. If i leave, so will most of them.
Klaus, Elijah and Hayley look proud.
Audrey: Wolves will follow their Alpha, I have already earned Witches loyalty by teaching them real spells and you know how they are, they follow power and Vampires know their history and they want to be in my and my family's good grace. If i leave, so will they and you won't even be able to get students, because you want it or not we are the face of Salvatore school- the tribrids- Symbols of unity of three fractions. You have only as much power as i'm willing to give you, love. Don't forget that. [Audrey pattes on Alaric on back, he flinches.]
"That's my niece!!!" Cheers Kol. Elijah and Hayley look slighly scared by similarities between Klaus and Audrey.
Alaric: Audrey, this isn't you...
Audrey: You don't know who i am! Now give me detention like others and let's call it even.
Alaric: You will join them on detention. [Audrey smiles amused at how Alaric tries to seem like he has authority, but doesn't say anything.]
Audrey still looks amused.
Hope: Now if you two are done compairing dicks, (to Alaric) I want to help you with research. [Alaric relaxes.]
Alaric: Dorian has a master's degree in library science. I think the adults have it covered.
"This time he is right. It's better if you stay away from it. It's dangerous." Said Hayley. Elijah, Freya and Klaus agree.
Hope: That's not fair. You only play by the grown-up rules when you don't need something from us. [Audrey nods at that.]
Alaric: I am spinning right now. (To Audrey) You mentioned how your family will react if you get expelled, but what if you get hurt? I can't drag you or anyone else any further into this until I figure out what's going on, okay? So right now, I need you to be kids keeping a dragon-sized secret today until I get some answers. Understood?
MYSTIC FALLS' TOWN SQUARE-DAY
[Salvatore school students get out of van.]
Lizzie: So, what did you do? My dad never gets mad at you. You're the prodigal daughter. Must have been juicy.
Audrey: She isn't his daughter!
Hope: Sorry, no time for girl talk. Public service awaits.
Dorian: All right, listen up. It's a beautiful day. You got options: Litter, weeds, graffiti. Your choice.
Audrey: I'm chosing Graffiti.
Kaleb: It's bad enough we get punished while the humans get a pass, but there ain't no way in hell I'm picking up their garbage.
Lizzie: Uh, I don't do trash either.
Hope: I love trash, as of this moment.
Lizzie: Perf. It suits you.
Mikaelsons doesn't look pleased with Lizzie treats Hope.
Audrey: She isn't your mirror, Elizabeth. [Lizzie glares at Audrey.]
So does Damon.
Lizzie: Looks like we're scrubbing paint today.
Josie: Dad told us to work together, okay, harmoniously.
Lizzie: Yeah, and he also said without drama, and I am feeling a rage attack coming on, so I will be remaining drama-free over by that wall of graffiti. Are you coming or not?
Josie: I don't know, Lizzie, is there another bus you want to throw me under? [Audrey laughs. Mg looks proud of Josie.]
Caroline looks prud Josie stood up for herself, but she isn't pleased her daughters are fighting.
Lizzie: Fine, Daddy's girls. Anyone else? [Mg doesn't move.]
Lizzie: Get the lead out, MG. [Mg gives Hope and Josie apologic looks and follows Lizzie. Audrey gives trash distasteful look.]
Audrey: (to Hope) Do you want me to stay?
"You so didn't want to." Said Hope.
"Well... Who enjoys picking up someone's trash. I prefered graffities like i said, but i would stay if you wanted." Said Audrey. Hope smiles at her.
Hope: Naah. I can handle it.
Audrey: Okay. I'll get us Milkshakes later. [Hope smiles at her. Audrey goes.]
Mikaelsons smile at their bond.
FOREST-DAY
[Landon and Rafael are cooking Rabbit.]
Landon: Uh, I think it's done.
Rafael: Oh... Next time, we got to catch, like, a deer or something. (Chuckles) You know, more meaty, less...  rabbity.
"What's wrong with rabbit? It's really delicious." Said Audrey. Mikaelson siblings agreed.
"You have eaten rabbit?" Asked Hayley.
"Yeah. When i was kid i loved Robbin hood." Said Audrey.
"I remember. You would always make mum read it." Said Hope.
"What does it have to do with it?" Interrupted Damon.
"I'm starting from beigining, so shut it. Anyway, then i watched cartoon Brave, where heroess was using arrows, then i grew up and watched series Arrow. Main character is like modern world Robin hood and i had biggest crush on him. So i always wanted to learn how to shoot arrows. I have been trying to make dad teach me for years, but he was on no. When i was around thirteen i finally managed to make him teach me. I was fast learner." Said Audrey.
"Not like your father." Commented Elijah.
"Shut up!" Glared Klaus. Kol, who also remembered how Klaus struggled with arrows, laughs.
"On my fourteen birthday he took me camping. We slep in tent and explored the forest and hunted. Then dad cooked rabbit we killed and we ate it. It was so delicious. That's when i ate rabbit first." Said Audrey. Klaus smiles.
"So you liked your birthday?" Asked Klaus.
"Hell yeaah! You always have the best birthday gifts. That day we also went swimming in nearby river. Then we sat around bonfire and you told me stories about yourself and our family." Said Audrey, her eyes shining. Mikaelsons notice how happy Audrey looks by memory and smile fondly.
"We spent whole night talking and laughing. It was one of the best days of my life." Said Audrey with so bright smile, it could light up a room.
"We will do it again then." Said Klaus.
"We must! Oh, and this time whole family should come. It will even more fun that way!" Said Audrey. Mikaelsons agreed.
"It's so weird to see them so.... human." Said Caroline. Stefan and Damon agreed.
Landon: It's food, man. I'm good. Thanks for sticking with me.
Rafael: Nowhere else I'd rather be, bro.
"He is good friend." Said Elijah, apprecating boy's loyalty.
Landon: I don't know. That school was good for you.
Rafael: Lan, you run, I run, period. [Both of them eat rabbit.]
Landon: She hates me, doesn't she?
Rafael: Hope? Probably. You want to explain why you kept lying to her? Why you lied to me.
Landon: That's the problem. I can't. Every time I try to put it into words, all I can say is it's like the knife wanted me to steal it. And then it wanted me to lie.
"It's possible. I mean if it attracts dragons, why could it affect Landon, too?" Said Freya.
"Yes, but why did it start soing that now?" Asked Kol.
Rafael: Knives don't have conscious thoughts, brother.
Landon: I know, but knives don't usually attract dragons either.
"He has point." Said Stefan.
Rafael: Um, well, what's done is done. It's not like you're ever gonna see her again anyway. Hey, hey... it's just the two of us. Living off the land. Nothing better.
Landon: A burger. A burger would be better.
Rafael: A burger would be better. [Both of them laugh.]
Landon: Hey, I got an idea... to make some money. Put your new werewolf skills to work. You in?
"Don't be an idiot! Werewolf hunters will caugh you, if you start showing off." Said Hayley.
