Chapter 24

SALVATORE SCHOOL/DORIAN'S COTTAGE-NIGHT
[Alaric and Hope are talking on phone.]
Hope: How's the interrogation going?
Alaric: She's not talking. But I think I figured out why no one remembers dragons, gargoyles or dryads existing. I mean, whatever happened to these creatures, it erased all memory of them. It's like they never existed in the first place.
"Erasing memory's from whole world?" Said surprised Freya.
"I'm not even surprised anymore." Said Kol.
Hope: I guess that explains a lot.
Alaric: Well, don't sound so excited. It's only a massive piece of the puzzle that explains why these creatures only exist in legends and myths.
Hope: Sorry. I'm just having a day. Listen, I want a seat on the council. I'm a tribrid... The only one of my kind. No one can represent my interests but me.
"Excuse you? I'm a tribrid, too." Said Audrey.
"You were representing wolves, so i didn't count you." Said Hope.
"So now you are representing wolves, i shouldn't count you as Tribrid either?" Said Audrey.
"Okay. I'm sorry." Said Hope.
Alaric: Is this about Landon? Because you can't let this get personal.
"Don't be riddiculas! Everything is personal." Said Audrey. Mikaelsons (not Davina) agreed.
Hope: The political is personal. I learned that in Advanced Civics, taught by you.
Alaric: That's cheating.
"No. It isn't." Said Audrey.
Alaric: But I trust that you'll make the right call. 
[Alaric goes back to living room. Dorian stands up from chair.]
Dorian: It's been hours. She's not gonna tell us anything.
Girls look at Dryad sympathetically.
[Alaric opens the window and wind comes in.]
Dryad: Oh, that feels nice. Thank you, Alaric.
Alaric: From somebody who has lost exactly what you lost today... I'm sorry.
Dryad: I will honor our deal. What do you wish to know?
SALVATORE SCHOOL-NIGHT
[Hope enters the room.]
Hope: Sorry, I'm late.
Kaleb: Hold up. Who voted for her?
Audrey: I did. Hope added Tribrid fraction, which she is representing. I talked to pack about it and they still agree that i represent wolves even through i'm Tribrid fraction member.
"You have a really good pack." Said Klaus.
"Thanks." Said Audrey.
[Fraction leaders are sitting around table. Emma uses spell and hungs scale in air.]
Emma: We're here to discuss if Landon should be allowed to stay at the school. My vote, on behalf of the lower school, is to err on the side of inclusion. We exist to help kids like him. Which is what I'm going to go do now. [Emma places her rock on scale.]
Klaus, Elijah, Marcel, Freya and Damon don't agree with Emma.
Emma: If you'll excuse me. [Emma leaves.]
Kaleb: All right, who wants to start?
Hope: Landon has to go.
Kaleb: Never thought I'd be saying this, but... Hope's right. Humans refuse to make a place for us in their world. We start letting them in, it's only a matter of time before they take this place from us, too.
"Are we sure he isn't Damon's?" Joked Stefan.
"Ha ha!" Said Damon.
[Kaleb places his rock on scale.]
Kaleb: Landon goes.
Audrey: I don't agree with Kaleb's prejudice against humanity (gives Kaleb a look), but he is right on one thing. Landon doesn't belong here. [Audrey places rock on scale.]
Kaleb: Two on one.
Hope: Doesn't matter how much we want him to stay. Look what one mad wolf did to him. Earlier, I asked him if he felt safe here. He said "yes."
Flashback
[Hope looked at sphere after she and Audrey left the room and it's glowing red.]
"He lied." Said Hayley.
"No surprises here." Said Kol.
Flashback over
Hope: He was lying. This place is dangerous for him, and even he knows it. If he stays, it's on all of us. It is all of our responsibility to protect him. Can we honestly say we believe every one of us can handle that kind of a responsibility? [Hope puts her rock on scale.]
"So it's decided. He is leaving." Said Damon.
Audrey: Three on one. Josie?
SALVATORE SCHOOL- DORIAN'S COTTAGE-NIGHT
Dryad: The night I was to leave with Oliver, something attacked me, and I woke up in an endless darkness. I could feel the presence of others, but not see or hear them. I was there for so long, and then, just as suddenly, I found myself not far from here. With an urge to possess that Knife. [Alaric is holding the knife.]
People listen to Dryad intrigued and curious.
Alaric: Why? What is this?
Dryad: I do not know. Only that I must have it. It's like something... something pressing inside me, telling me to take it.
"Like Landon? What if he is one of them?" Asked Elijah.
"That would explain why he can't be compelled. Maybe for some reason he forgot himself, too." Klaus.
Alaric: Take it where?
Dryad: There is a dark pit beneath the earth. Locked away. I can see it. I can feel it. I am meant to take the Knife there. If I do, I will find peace and finally be free. [Dryad is scratching a symbol on wood.]
"What's that?" Asked Davina.
"I don't know." Answered Kol.
Alaric: And who told you to do this?
Dryad: A voice in my mind. It is still there. I tried to fight it, but I am not strong enough. I'm sorry. I have no choice. [Dryad uses wind and breaks the circle that is locking her.]
"That thing can mind control, too?" Asled Kol.
"Now it is time for you two to call usm" Said Freya to Hope and Audrey.
Alaric: Watch out. [Dryad throws Dorian away. Alaric grabs an axe, but Dryad binds his hand with plants.]
Alaric: Dorian, the Knife. [Knife is at table. Dryad reaches it with plants, but before she takes it. Alaric manages to throw an axe at Dryad's chest. Dryad falls. Alaric goes to her.]
Dryad: Take me to the daffodils. Take me home. Take me, please.
Some look at Drayd sadly.
"She didn't deserve it." Said Davina sadly.
SALVATORE SCHOOL-NIGHT
Josie: Since Landon walked through those doors, my sister, my father and I have almost died. We don't really know what Landon is, so we can't really say if we know if he's dangerous or not. This isn't about who's friends with who or who you like. This school is family, and I am not putting my family in danger again.
Caroline looks proud of Josie. So do Stefan and Damon.
[Josie puts her rock at scale. The side of Landon leaving wins four on one.]
DAFFLOIDS' FIELD-NIGHT
[Dorian carefully places Dryad on ground.]
Dorian: Watch your head.
Dryad: I was wrong about you... Dorian. You kept your word. Not all humans lie.
Dorian: It's okay. I wish more monsters were like you.
"She isn't a monster." Protested Davina, Caroline and Audrey.
Dryad: I remembered something else. That black pit, that awful place, it is called Malivore.
"Never heard of it." Said Kol.
Dorian: Malivore. Thank you. [Dryad dies.]
Dorian: I'm sorry this happened. [Dorian puts cloth over Dryad's corpse. Dryad turns into a big, beautiful tree.]
People look at tree with awe.
SALVATORE SCHOOL-GYM-NIGHT
[Lizzie is hitting punching bag.]
Penelope: It's sweet of you not to want to hurt the punching bag. [Penelope is standing at the door.]
"Not her again." Groaned Caroline.
Lizzie: You want to take its place? [Penelope walks toward her.]
Penelope: Don't blame me. It's the rest of the witches who knew how bad you'd be at that job.
Lizzie: What did I ever do to make you hate me so much?
Penelope: It's not about you. Shocking, I know. It's about how you treat Josie.
Lizzie: I love Josie.
Penelope: Did you think to ask her if she wanted to run for the council before you assumed you'd win? You've left her with no room for herself. She spends all of her energy taking care of you. She doesn't have time for a relationship because you are a black hole of time and energy and love, just sucking it all up. [Lizzie is clearly hurt by what Penelope says.]
Salvatores glare at Penelope furiously.
Penelope: Never giving any of it back. Oh, she won't ever burn your world down. So I will do it for her.
[Penelope turns to leave. Lizzie starts crying.]
"Okay. She went too far. But she had point and Lizzie needed to hear it." Said Audrey.
"Lizzie isn't a black hole!" Glared Hope.
"I didn't say she is. But you have to admit she treated Josie terribly." Said Audrey. Hope scrowls.
[She angrily uses spell on punching bag.]
Lizzie: Dissulta. [Punching bag explodes.]
Caroline looks at Lizzie sadly, then glares at place where Penelope was standing.
ROAD-NIGHT
[Hope, Landon and Audrey are walking to bus stop.]
Landon: Thanks for walking me.
Hope: Yeah. [Audrey nodded. She looks bored.]
"You look like you would rather do absolutely anything else, so why did you walk him?" Asked Marcel.
"Didn't want to leave Hope alone with him." Said Audrey. Klaus nodded approvingly. Elijah smiled at how protective of Hope Audrey is.
Landon: I had to go before Rafael tried to follow me again.
Hope: We didn't take the vote lightly.
Landon: Yeah, I don't really need to hear about that. I'm in enough pain as it is.
Hope: I voted no.
Audrey: Everyone did except Emma. [Hope glared at Audrey.]
Landon: (hurt) Yeah. Didn't need to know that. Why, exactly?
Hope: Remember when you asked me to make sure that Raf didn't follow you?
You did it 'cause... you wanted to do what was right for him. Even though it was hard. I do it for the same reason.
[Audrey takes map from Hope and give it to Landon.]
Landon: New Orleans?
Hope: We have a family friend there that's expecting you. I asked him to help you find your birth mom.
"She meand Vincent." Explained Audrey.
Landon: What?
Hope: I couldn't get you the answers that you wanted, but he can. With this.
I put the results of your lineage spell in there. And, um, some money.
Landon: Thank you.
Hope: Yeah. Oh, and, um... and this.
Audrey: It's magical. Protection?
Hope: Kind of. [Hope puts bracelet on Landon.]
Hope: (to Landon) Think of it like a... "click your heels together three times" kind of thing. If you ever need me, just press it, and my bracelet will lead me to you.
"Are you his fairy godmother?" Said annoyed Klaus.
Audrey: It's late. We should really go.
Landon: Okay.
Hope: Bye, Landon.
Audrey: Bye. [Audrey and Hope start to leave, Hope's bracelet glows.]
Landon: (grinning) I wanted to see if it worked. [Hope smiles at him and waves. Then Hope and Audrey leave. The bus comes.]
SALVATORE SCHOOL-GYM-NIGHT
[Lizzie is sitting on floor, crying.]
"Oh, my sweet girl." Said Caroline.
"I will kill that Penelope girl!" Glared Damon.
"Youa ren't killing a child, Damon!" Rolled his eyes Stefan.
[Door opens. Angry Rafael walks in, but then sees Lizzie.]
Rafael: I'm sorry. I'll leave you alone.
Lizzie: No, wait. I'm sorry. About Landon. I thought that Josie would vote with you. I don't know what happened. Other than that, apparently I'm the worst person in the world. (voice breaking) You don't have to be my date to the party.
Rafael: No. You're not the one who broke our deal. I'll keep my word. [Rafael turns around to leave. Lizzie grabs his hand and turns him around. Lizzie kisses Rafael.]
Stefan and Damon glare at Rafael.
Rafael: What are you doing? [Lizzie takes off her shirt and help Rafael gets his off.]
Lizzie: Just don't think about it. [Lizzie kisses Rafael. Rafael kisses back, then picks her up and walks a little. Then places her on floor and they are making out.]
BUS-NIGHT
[Landon is sitting in bus. He takes out diary and opens it. There is picture of his mother holding him as baby. She is wearing necklace with the symbol Dryad drew.]
Dryad: (O.S.) That black pit, that awful place, it is called Malivore.
"Isn't it--?" Said Freya.
"Malivore's symbol." Said Elijah.
"That proves he is connected to Malivore." Said Klaus.

Okay, so many doesn't like Hizzie ship. They see them as friends and i agree that Hizzie is better as friends than lovers, so i will choose other love interest for Hope. I'm not sure myself who he/she will be yet.
