Chapter 37

PARKING-NIGHT
[Hope and Audrey get their bags from car when they hear the noise. They see Seylah trying to steal a car.]
Audrey: Let me guess. Pizza run?
Seylah: Alaric was right. You are a pain.
"Says her." Said Hayley.
Hope: We're not the one stealing a car at the moment.
Seylah: It's my car, so it's not stealing.
Hope: Oh, then you're just afraid to go upstairs and get your keys, because then you'd have to tell Landon that you're abandoning him again. Even worse.
Seylah: He likes you, Hope. Be good to him.
"Only because he likes her, doesn't mean she likes him, too" Said Klaus.
Hope: You first. Now, are you coming with, or do I need to drag your ass upstairs?
Seylah: I never thought I'd see him again. And I was okay with that. Being a mother was never on my list of things to do before I died. Every now and then, over the years, I... I wondered how he was. What kind of person he turned out to be. If he had a nice life. (Exhales) Turns out he's a good person with a crappy life. He deserves better.
"Then don't leave him!" Said Davina.
Hope: Then help make it better.
Seylah: That's exactly what I'm doing.
Audrey: By leaving? [Seylah starts the engine.]
Audrey: It doesn't matter how good intentions you have, All that he's gonna remember of you is that you abandoned him when he needed you the most.
Seylah: No. He won't remember me, period. And neither will you.
"What does she mean?" Said Stefan.
"She'll jump in Malivore." Said Damon.
[Seylah shots Hope tranquilizer. Before she can shoot Audrey, too, Audrey makes a magic shield.]
Audrey: Bulla. [Bubble like boundary appears on Audrey and Hope and tranquilizer falls on ground.]
"Good reflexes." Complimented Elijah.
"Thanks." Said Audrey.
[Audrey kneels down to check on Hope, Seylay takes advantage of it and drives away.]
MOTEL'S ROOM-NIGHT
[Landon is pacing. Alaric is sitting on bed.]
Landon: Wait, wait, she got pregnant in Satan's mud bath?
"That's one way to say it." Chuckles Caroline.
Alaric: Yeah, that's-that's a lot to take in.
Landon: And now she's gone?
Alaric: Look, being a-a parent i-is complicated. Sometimes we convince ourselves that we're doing the right thing, when in reality, we're just being really dumb.
"That's how Alaric acts all the time." Said Audrey.
Alaric: Look, I-I've got to check in on Hope and Audrey, okay? [Alaric gets up, but before he leaves they see Malivore's creature.]
Landon: Bigger fish. Huge fish. [Hope and Audrey run in.]
Audrey&Hope: Ictus. [They throw mere-man back.]
"Just in time to save the day." Said Kol.
Hope: Also: ick!
Audrey: Eww.
Landon: See? Danger magnet.
Audrey: What the hell was that?
Alaric: Uh, I'm guessing a Mer-Man.
Landon: A very pissed Mer-Man.
Hope: Why are the creatures still coming for them? We don't even have what they want.
"Or you have. It has to be three keys." Said Marcel.
Alaric: I don't know, but we got to get Landon out of here.
Landon: Oh, no.
Audrey: What?
Landon: You said a necromancer told you the Knife was one of three keys, right?
Hope: The Necromancer. Like I said, it's a long story, But why does it matter? [Landon shows them urn.]
Alaric: Son of a bitch.
Landon: This is Seylah's. I picked it up, but I didn't steal it. I-I... Not on purpose, anyway.
"It's the second key." Said Klaus.
Landon: I don't know how it got in there, just like how I don't know what happened with the Knife. I swear, I wouldn't do that again.
"He somehow activates keys." Observed Hayley.
Audrey: We get it. Calm down!
Hope: Landon, Landon. It's okay. I believe you. [Mer-man growls and tries to get out of room, banging on door.]
Landon: Oh, we got to move.
Hope: No, no, no, wait. Leave it, leave it.
Alaric: What? Are you out of your mind?
"She is right. You need to find Malivore." Said Marcel.
Audrey: No. She is right. How long are we gonna play by Malivore's rules? Now it's our turn to set the game. Let the Mer-man have it. He'll take it to Malivore, we'll follow him and we'll know where it is.
Alaric: I am not taking three teenagers to a covert millitary hiding place for a demon portal.
"Good." Said Hayley.
Audrey: You kind of have to.
Alaric: Why?
Hope: Because Seylah's going there.
Landon: What? Did she tell you that?
Hope: In her own way. [Hope pushes button on bracelet and puts bracelet in urn.]
Hope: Hold that.
"Smart." Said Klaus.
Hope: I'll explain in the car. Let's go.
Alaric: H-He's a fish man on land. How fast can he be, right? [Mer-man breaks the door and comes out.]
Alaric: Oh, my God!
ALARIC'S CAR-FORT VALLEY- NIGHT
[Alaric is driving, Hope is in passenger sit and Audrey and Landon are in back sits.]
Hope: Turns out he's pretty fast.
Alaric: Listen, this was your idea. So is it within my bounds as the headmaster to tell you to shut it?
"Yes, but you should do it more politly." Rolled her eyes Audrey.
Landon: What if we don't get there in time?
Audrey: Seylah doesn't have that much of a lead on us.
Landon: I can't believe she wants to erase herself just to get out of being a parent. [They see building, which is surrounded by gate.]
Landon: What the hell is that? [They get out of car and go toward it. There is Malivore's symbol on it and it's written Triad on it.]
Hope: Triad. [Landon sees warning about explisives.]
Landon: explosives?
Alaric: On the bright side, maybe this fence stopped our fishy friend.
Audrey: I don't think so. [They climb over gate, which is broken by Mer-man.]
Hope: There. [Landon goes toward it, but Hope stops him.]
Hope: Hey, stay back. He's dangerous.
Landon: I have to get in there. [Landon runs.]
Hope: Landon! [Hope follows, Audrey follows Hope.]
Audrey: Hope! [Alaric follows them.]
Alaric: Wait, guys, be careful!
"No, no, don't go there!" Yelled Hayley. Others look worried.
[Mer-man is holding a bomb that beeps. Then it explodes. Landon, Hope, Audrey and Alaric are thrown back.]
"Hope! Audrey!" Yelled worried Mikaelsons.
"Alaric!" Yelled worried Salvatores.
Hope:(O.C.) I can only speculate about what happened after that, but in hindsight, I think it's pretty obvious.
TRIAD BUILDING-NIGHT
[Alarm is activated.]
Man 1: We got a break-in.
Man 2: I'm on it. [Man goes to leave.]
Hope: (O.C.) Seylah went to Triad.
[Seylah enters and shoots them. Then Seylah takes man's card.]
"Cool." Said Audrey.
Hope: (O.C.) And then she went to Malivore. [On the monitor Seylah turns to camera that watches Malivore.]
Audrey: (O.C.) I'm sure Triad tried to stop her. But she had a reason to fight.
[Seylah looks down at photo- She is holding baby Landon.]
Audrey: (O.C.) And in the end, I'm guessing she won. [Seylah is attacked by Triad members. She starts fighting with them.]
"Badass." Said Davina.
Audrey: (O.C.) She sacrificed herself... for Landon. [Seylah goes in the room there is Malivore. Seylah climbs over railing and jumps in Malivore.]
Hope: (O.C.) And then she was erased.
"Then how do you remember her?" Asked Klaus.
"Spoilers." Said Audrey&Hope.
TRIAD'S GROUNDS-DAY
[Hope, Audrey, Landon and Alaric wake up and get up.]
Landon: Where the hell are we? What happened?
Alaric: I don't know. But I don't think we're in Kansas anymore.
ALARIC'S CAR-DAY
[Hope is looking out of window. Audrey is texting to Funcle💞]
*Audrey: And now no one, but me and Hope remember Landon's mother.
Kol: That's a lot of information to take in.
"It is." Agreed Kol to his future self.
Kol: Mishief, are you sure you don't need help? It sounds dangerous.
Audrey: We are fine. I promise. And uncle Kol, remember you promised. You can't tell anyone.
Kol: I know. Be careful. Call me if you need me.
Audrey: I will. Love you.
Kol: Love you, too.* ]
Mikaelsons smile at them.
Landon: Thank you again for coming to help me.
Alaric: Sorry you didn't find your mother. What I don't understand is why I can't remember how we found you.
Alaric: Hope? Audrey? Any theories?
Hope: Work in progress. [Audrey looks at Hope, then looks back out of window.]
Landon: Uh, I think the bus stop is actually that way.
Alaric: Oh, that's okay. We'll drive you.
Landon: Where?
Alaric: Home. [Audrey, Landon and Hope look at him surprised.]
"He is bring him to school?" Asked surprised Caroline.
Landon: Why the change of heart?
Alaric: Call it a gut feeling. Or you could just add it to the list of things I don't know.
SALVATORE SCHOOL-ALARIC'S OFFICE-NIGHT
Audrey: And that's it.
Hope: Which brings us to my question. What do we do next?
Alaric: How am I supposed to know? I don't remember doing anything you just said.
Hope: You'll know because you always know. Because you're a good headmaster in spite of all the things that I say.
"No, he isn't." Said Mikaelsons (except Hope).
[Audrey looks at Hope weirded out.]
Audrey: No, he isn't. We came here because... I don't know. I adviced going to New Orleans and taking urn there, where there are more competent people who could help us, but Hope was admant it's school business and since Malivore's creature's are attracted to Landon we should tell you.
"You should have come to us." Said Freya.
[Audrey takes out urn and places it on desk.]
Alaric: I take it that's the urn I don't remember.
Hope: Yeah. We figured it was better to have it here than to leave it laying around.
Alaric: Well, in that case, I think the only question we should be asking ourselves is: Why do you remember?
Hope: We don't know. But I can't imagine that it's good.
Alaric: So what happens now? [Urn glows.]
"Another creature?" Asked Stefan.
Audrey&Hope: I think we're about to find out.
TRYAD BUILDING-NIGHT
[Man is checking Malivore's activity with device. Clarke approaches him.]
Clarke: What happened here?
Man: Unscheduled absorption.
Clarke: What, another rat?
Man: No, readings are too big for that. Like, human big.
Clarke: Well, any idea who it was?
Man: Of course not. I wouldn't remember if it was my best friend. But I did find this... [Man shows him photo he found.]
Man: ...floating on the surface. [Clarke looks at photo, then kicks the man into Malivore. We see photo of Seylah holding baby Landon.]
"Who is he?" Asked Klaus, the saw Hope and Audrey were about to speak and interrupted.
"We'll see. I get it." Said Klaus.
SALVATORE SCHOOL-GYM-NIGHT
[Wolves are playing ball. Audrey, Lela and Jed are sitting the round out.]
Lela: So only you and Hope remember?
Audrey: Yep. And don't tell anyone. Only me, Hope, Uncle Kol, Alaric and you know it. [Jed and Lela look at her offended.]
Jed: When have we ever done that?
"It was supposed to be secret!" Said Hope.
"You know i tell everything to Jed and uncle Kol." Said Audrey.
Audrey: Never. I just thought i would still tell you, so you won't accidentally spill. [Jed and Lela nod. They see round is over. Audrey stands up.]
Audrey: Come on! Let's join the game!

"This perfectly describes me and Jed." Said Audrey. Hope nodded. Mikaelsons smiled at Audrey having such a good friend.

"I'll definetly adopt him." Promised Hayley to Audrey.
"Thanks, mom." Smiled Audrey.

People smile again.
"It's good to know you have so good friends." Said Hayley. Audrey smilled and nodded.
